Hi I’m 18 years old 5,8 and only 45kgs I really want to gain weight after being so underweight for so long as it’s really impacting my mental health. I don’t really understand a lot on gaining weight so any tricks and information would be help full! :)


Try to go to the gym 3-4 times a week. Gaining muscle is probably going to be easiest.


Going to the gym will not help you out on weight if you do not have the proper nutrients to build the muscle. You need to determine a realistic weight goal, and use the app to develop diet to reach said weight. Nutrition is the most import thing when it comes to gaining weight.


No cardio. You can work on weight training like mentioned. Need to eat more calories. Be in a surplus

Thanks for reaching out on community. It sounds like you are having a tough time gaining weight. Do you have a good appetite? Poor appetite can make it difficult to gain weight.

If your appetite is good, then here are some of my top tips for weight gain:
* Eat frequently, at least 6 times a day so that you don't have to pack all of your calories into three meals.
*Use plenty of (preferably healthy) high-calorie boosters that you like, such as extra nut butter, olive oil, avocado, cheese, olives and olive spreads, nuts, seeds, and hummus to pack in the calories. You'd be amazed at how the calories add up!
* Compare foods and beverages at the grocery and restaurants to maximize calories. For example, if one cracker has only 50 calories per serving, go with another brand you like that has 90 calories per serving.
* Maximize your calories in snacks. Go for trail mix, nuts, whole-fat yogurt, cheese, nut butter, avocado. If you eat low-cal foods like carrots and celery, use dips liberally.
* Review your food records periodically. Are there opportunities to pack in more calories?

Smoothies and shakes are a great way to pack in extra calories.


It can be easy to go for the sweets and fatty foods, but even when trying to gain weight don’t. Instead eat calorie dense foods that have health benefits, things such as peanut butter, bread, and hearty fruits.


Definitely the calorie dense foods, and roughly estimate the nutritional value they will have for your body. You can totally do this :)
