Bad experience with noom anyone? Topic

Yes ?
no?

It wasn’t so much “bad” but didn’t work for me. A lot of money, and my advisor was lame lol

Hi Ladybug, I hope you find tracking with MyNetDiary helpful for meeting your goals! Please let us know how you are doing! Brenda (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

Been doing this since December 23, tracking every morsel and exercising and not loosing much. I lost two pounds only. So disappointed and I reduced my calories to 1200 or less No help still no weight loss

Hi U1188963930- I am sorry to hear the scale is not reflecting your hard work! A loss of 2# in 6 weeks, while slow is still a weight loss. Don't give up!

Things that can impact rate of weight loss include:
1. Age
2. Activity level (are you doing a combination of cardio and strength training?). How many minutes per day?
3. Calorie budget. How many days have you been consuming no more than 1,200 calories?
4. If you have lost a lot of weight before or if you have had weight loss surgery or have diabetes and take insulin or other medications this can slow down the weight loss process.
5. What you eat: Are you eating enough fiber and protein? These will help you feel full and not go over budget.
6. Stress and sleep. We know that these both make it harder to lose weight. Here's a post on sleep you may find helpful: https://www.mynetdiary.com/sleep-and-weight.html
Finally- here are some tips to help break the plateau: https://www.mynetdiary.com/have-you-been-dieting-and-exercising-but-not-losing-weight-try-these-proven-plateau-solutions.html
Hang in there! Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

I had Noom for less than a week. When I signed up it was for a 14 day free trial but, when I checked the subscription info it was only seven days.

The so called “coach” never responded to any questions. I don’t think that their coaches are real people because when I canceled the coach response was instant and quite long.

There was no community support that I could access or that I was ever asked to join. It said it was there.

The daily lessons were limited so that you could not progress very fast. They want to delay your progress in the lessons so that they can keep you there longer.

The only good part was the food tracking but, that is not worth over $400 a year if you don’t have a discount code. With the code I had it still would have been $150 for eight months, not even a year. They estimate how long it will take to reach your goal and cut you off at that date.

MyNetDiary is much better. The free version is very good and the premium is well worth the price. I bought the premium for the additional trackers.

I’m on Noom now (male,46, 202 lbs). A little patience in the beginning helps. They roll out the features slowly, which is actually clever, so you’re building a mindset not just having a bunch of tools dumped on you. I lost about 12 pounds in the first two months.

At this point, four months in, I’m tired of the goofy #nerds language and the coach’s patronizing “what do YOU think?” questions. So far I really like this app and the tracking system. And the access to way more data. I will cancel Noom if this continues to feel good.

BUT- I did drop that initial 12 pounds fast.

Hi HarryT- Thanks for the thumbs up! We are thrilled you are finding the MyNetDiary app easy to use and decided to upgrade to Premium. We are a small company and always looking to improve. Please let us know if there are any tweaks you'd find helpful!
Best, Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

You may be consuming too few calories. I am set for about 1350 calories a day. I know that for my body that is too low, so I aim for that, but am okay with having as much as 500 to 700 calories a day more...I still lose weight. Even with this 'extra' I know it is WAY less than what I consume normally without something to keep track of my intake.

EEEK! This is on the wrong post...
