Breastfeeding weight loss Topic

I am the opposite of every wives tale re: breastfeeding weight loss. With my first, I only got back to pre-baby weight after 2 years of nursing when she was only feeding 1x/day.

My second baby is 7 months old now, and I am depleted of energy caring for 2 under 3, hungry all the time, and sleep deprived. Not to mention, my body holds onto weight when I breastfeed on demand like this (7-8x/day). I also lose my milk supply if I lose too quickly.

I want to lose 12 lbs by 10/31.

I’m exercising (not enough, and probably not the correct type for what I need right now) but I need guidelines on where to start with diet.

Hi there new Mom-

Congrats on your family! An exciting and busy time for sure~

Be kind to yourself! Having 2 kiddos under the age of 3 is very demanding, not to mention sleep deprivation.

Take it slow with your weight loss, striving to lose about 1/2 a pound weekly. You may find these tracking videos helpful since you are just getting started: https://www.mynetdiary.com/mynetdiary-how-to-videos-can-help-you-become-a-tracking-pro-in-no-time.html
Breastfeeding burns about 400 extra calories a day! A simple way to account for this is to track breastfeeding as an activity in the app. About 1/2 way through this article you will see a screenshot outlining how to do this: https://www.mynetdiary.com/nutrition-requirements-during-pregnancy.html
Finally, these exercise videos may be helpful, since you can do them at home around your kids schedule: https://www.mynetdiary.com/pilates-on-demand.html
