Connecting Siri to log medications Topic

Hi, I was wondering if there was any way to connect Siri to log my medications.

I always struggle to remember to take them and have a hard time remembering if I have taken them already and I doubt I’m going to go in to my phone and manually log it everytime so it’s be really really helpful to be able to log it through siri. Thanks :)

Hello Ryka,

Sorry about the trouble, and thank you for your inquiry.

On the iPhone app, the App Settings screen has two items: "Show Siri Buttons" (Show Add To Siri buttons and Siri Shortcuts in the app) & "Siri Shortcuts" (Review and manage Siri shortcuts for MyNetDiary.) Open the "Siri Feature Guide" article from the App Settings screen for more detailed info. Many MyNetDiary features are already compatible/working with "Siri." Unfortunately, "Medications" are not among them. We decided not to connect/do "Siri" and "Reminders" for "Medications" and "Insulin Doses."

We understand that it could be convenient. But, the users tend to make records "on the fly," automatically, "without thinking." Unintentional and accidental recording or its duplication by using Siri can be extremely dangerous, especially for people with a severe medical condition. It's a good habit to record taking medication simultaneously as current intake. The necessity of manual input without Siri, viewing the previously logged records is an additional layer of verification if you were already taken medication or not. Security and convenience are on different scalepans. While deciding between these two, we decided on safety. We want to encourage our users to double-check each medication record and its correctness during manual input; thus, the current implementation is not linked to Siri and Reminders features. We regret any inconvenience that this might have caused you.

Sincerely,
Dmitry S.
