Dealing with calorie counting Topic

Hello guys, im on the verge of struggling with counting calories and trying to learn how to calorie deficit. I’ve seen plenty of TikTok’s but i just can’t understand where to start if I choose to do that

start by figuring out which foods you need to cut down on. A lot of the extra calories I was having turned out to be from extra snacks, sweets or random carbs throughout the day. You can start by simply cutting out the obviously unhealthy foods you might eat regularly and eat 2 or 3 high protein/nutrient meals a day. If you do feel the urge to snack, eat fruit or try to find low calorie and healthy snacks. (Lots of ideas on tik tok) Lastly, figure out which foods you like/ are open to eat. Plan your meals a say in advance to begin with. Planning for the week or longer can be too overwhelming for some people. Once you figure out some high protein meals you can count on it will be easier for you to do this and you will no longer need to track calories. I have been eating half the calories I normally ate and I feel more satisfied and less bloated. I satisfy my random snack cravings with fruit or a low calorie protein bar. The secret is too eat LOTS of protein and fiber, and less fats and carbs. Protein keeps you full longer and aids your muscles in recovering from working out.

Lettuce. It’s not exciting but it’s a sure-thing. Eat however much lettuce you want and it won’t show up. Lettuce is to food what ghosting is to dating apps. You had a thing and then it was gone. The only downside is that a life on lettuce can sometimes feel like a life not worth living. Lettuce isn’t a fun food. But it’s not a fattening one either.

And yes, I’m aware of how much knowledge I’ve bestowed here. Up until my post, the low cal nature of lettuce was an unknown.
You’re welcome.

I put me meals in early, if I know what I’m eating in the evening I can then choose a healthier choice for lunch. Omelettes and salads fill a plate and are low in calories. Prawns are also really low so light lunches are the way to go for me.

I’ve only just started out but I think it’s truly about finding foods you enjoy that are lower in calories. Whenever i have tried to just cut out the things i enjoy, i end up binging anyway. So i still make sure to have a treat! For example if i want dessert i know i’m going to be jealous of my partner eating ice cream, so i found an ice cream that’s super low in calories.

I personally love eggs and find them super filling, plus there’s so many ways to eat them. I think it’s super important to still be able to enjoy what you’re eating!
