Hello out there. I am new to this app and to low carb eating. Today is my first day and I think I’m off to a good start but then I site here and start looking at all these percentages and get TOTALLY lost.
For example, I have 41g of net carbs still available to me for dinner but only 137 calories I can consume. How does that really work? Does that mean I don’t really get a dinner because I wouldn’t be in a calorie deficit? Does that mean I can eat over and focus on the net carbs? Does it mean since I worked out for 40 minutes I can take those calories and add them to the 137 remaining?? Lol
Any help out there would be greatly appreciated. I’m sitting here and basically getting my stomach prepared to hear that there’s no dinner for me tonight… ha ha 🤪

You can set your app so it will add whatever calories you burn during exercise to your daily calorie allotment. So, if you should eat 1200, and exercise 200 calories, it will raise your total to 1400. How about filling up on low carb veggies- that should keep you within your carb and calorie limits.

Hi there Sea_Saw-
Welcome to tracking! It certainly is a powerful tool to learn our habits and food composition.
Many people who use the app find it helps to plan out their meals. This allows tracking what you are going to eat ahead of time and prevent any surprises. Here's what a sample low-carb day might look like-
B: 2 eggs in non-stick cooking spray + Sauteed kale + fresh berries and plain coffee or tea
snack: Hummus and non-starchy veggies or low-carb yogurt
L: Green salad with grilled chicken thighs
snack: 1 oz mixed nuts
D: Roasted veggies and shrimp. I love this recipe from our Premium recipe collection: https://www.mynetdiary.com/shareRecipe.do?id=23979053
It is possible to enable the feature "add exercise to calorie budget." This will increase your calorie budget based on what you burned from exercise. Some people like this and others find they lose weight faster if they do not use it. Experiment and find what works best for you! There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to weight loss. Everyone is different.

This is helpful! I am a newbie here too and barely have time to read through stuff, but being able to read here is so helpful without me needing to browse through everything at once. Cheers, Dietician!
