I am adhering to my diet and exercise program, eating around 900-1100 calories per day, cutting out processed food, tracking my sodium intake; however, I wake up every morning with my hands totally swollen, and gaining at least .5-.9 pounds per day. Is this a concern???

Hi Mamadeaux,

It sounds like you are limiting your calories and sodium so your weight gain shouldn't be a result of your diet. It sounds like you are having fluid retention. Have you consulted with your doctor about your hand swelling? Also, make sure you are being medically supervised if you are going under 1200 calories daily. I would make sure to take a daily multivitamin-mineral supplement to supplement your low-calorie intake.
