How often or when should you weigh in? My weight fluctuates throughout my cycle. (3-8lbs is normal) it’s not fat rather water. How do I control my disappointment as weight loss is work and determination. We want to see results for our effort.

Hi TayAli,
Thanks for reaching out! Everyone is different in how often they weigh. Some people find daily weighing helps them stay on task with their plans. Others find it discouraging, especially if the daily weights fluctuate a lot with fluid changes. It does sound like your weight fluctuates a lot so you may find weekly or bi-weekly weight checks work best for you. I would look at the trends to capture the bigger picture. The MyNetDiary graphs help you to see your trends daily, weekly, monthly, 6 mth, year, and from the start of your plan in the Charts section. That is great because you can look at the bigger picture. I would also track other things to take the focus off of weight alone. You can track body measurements, and possibly other things such as energy level in the notes section.
Here are two articles you may find helpful.

Hi TayAli,
I’m having similar problems. I hate how our cycle has to affect our weight too. I’m losing so much motivation from seeing that I’ve gained weight rather than lost it after having put in so much effort. Reassuring to know I’m not the only one though. 😀
