How to add protein??? Topic

So I’m running into a problem

Since I’ve started my religious fast (No animal products), I’ve been finding it very difficult to find any significant sources of protein for my diet without intaking too many carbs. I’ve been eating beans/lentils, but that grants too many carbs. I can only manage about 40-45g of protein a day, and that’s with the included 140-150g of carbs, which is too much for my liking. Does anyone know any low carb high protein foods (besides tofu and peanut butter) that I can try adding to my diet to continue to lose weight?

Hi Kapp'n- At 16 years of age your body is still growing and needs extra energy. Eating less than 1,000 calories/day, as you have stated in other posts is not safe. I do not suggest you continue to diet to lose weight.

Have you considered using a “Pea Protein Powder”? Or Quinoa

There are organic protein powders that you can mix with water or make a shake/smoothie.

Vega makes a plant based protein powder with greens. Please make sure you are eating enough. 1000 calories isn't going to help you when you start losing muscle mass. Ask your family doctor for a referral to see a dietician to get the one on one help you need. The MyNetDiary nutritionists/dieticians have asked you to stop using the app because your are harming yourself. Please listen to the professionals and talk to your parents and your doctor.
