I’ve hit the wall early! Topic

I’m just into week 3 of the Blood Sugar Diet - low carb, 800 cals a day.
I lost 1 stone in the first 10 days and despite sticking religiously to my 800 cals, I’ve only lost an extra 1lb in the last 11 days.
This fab app is telling me I’m doing all the right things in regard to ratio of fat/protein/carbs. Other than just keeping my fingers crossed for a ‘whoosh’ any ideas how to get the scales moving again?

You can’t eat everyday the same amount of kcal because your metabolism will slow down. I suggest to eat around the amount of calories that you want to eat, ex: Monday 800cals, Tuesday 750cals ecc.... and also do some workout, try to do two days cardio and the rest abs workout or thighs

Hi BetterBoo-
I'd suggest striving to eat 3m/day, making sure you are getting at least 20g protein/meal.
Are you eating fruits or veggies at every meal? That is important to help meet your micronutrient needs as well as dietary fiber. Are you drinking at least 64 oz water/day?

From a health and sustainability standpoint, 800 calories/day is not enough fuel. I would encourage at a minimum 1,200 calories a day. This way you have the energy you need to engage in some physical activity and your hunger signals are not distracting. Plus with a 1200 calorie plan you run less of a risk of a nutrient deficiency.
We encourage slow and steady weight loss (at the app), such as 1/2-1pound a week. A loss of 14# or 1 stone in 3 weeks is VERY fast. I am guessing it took some time to gain the weight. Being patient and giving yourself a chance to lose it in a healthy way, will help you to keep it off for the long haul!

I undertook the Blood Sugar Diet to see if I can reverse recently diagnosed diabetes. It’s an 8 week plan only. Surprisingly, I am not feeling hungry and do eat 3 meals a day which all include fruit or veg. I’ve seen a vast increase in energy and am getting up earlier and going to bed earlier, I’m definitely more active. It feels good. I just wondered if there’s a science behind why I’m stuck with no loss?

Hi BetterBoo-

Glad you are feeling better with your new diet!
Weight loss is a combination of science and art. Your weight loss rate is impacted many things. For example, it is impacted by your gender (men tend to lose faster than women due to increased muscle mass), medications you take, your starting weight, previous weight loss attempts, and your highest weight, tracking accuracy, etc. I don't have access to any of your demographic or health information. I am thinking you have hit a weight loss plateau and the scale will soon resume reflecting your hard work. Here are some tips for breaking a plateau:https://www.mynetdiary.com/have-you-been-dieting-and-exercising-but-not-losing-weight-try-these-proven-plateau-solutions.html
