It’s not working Topic

I’ve been doing this for a little over two months now and I only lost .1 pound although I was supposed to lose over 10. What am I doing wrong. It’s really hard to stay motivated when all of my work is for nothing.

Make sure you log ALL your food. Little snacks add up. Keep it up a little longer, the weight will come off

Here’s what helps me when I get stuck. Maybe it will help you too!:
-Weigh and measure everything, especially fats.
-Reduce carbs.
-Have time with “no bites, licks, or tastes at all”. (12 hours of fasting, for example.)

Don’t get too discouraged. You didn’t gain any, you practiced logging. You will get there. Good luck! .

I agree with the 1st post, the logging of food is the most important thing you can do. Everything. And try not to guess or estimate what you are eating. Actually measure and weigh everything. I don’t suggest you add any other weight loss fads to this program - it should work just by following it. Fasting or Keto or low fat or anything else, may actually prevent you from losing weight. Good luck!

Hi there U1190669348- Welcome to MyNetDiary! Sorry to hear the scale is not reflecting your hard work. I realize this can be frustrating and cause doubt in the process. Here are a few tips that have helped others get the scale moving downward-

1. Are you eating regular meals? We suggest eating 3/day and striving to get in 20g of
lean protein/meal along with veggies at each meal. If you are stuck and don't know what to eat, here's a template: https://www.mynetdiary.com/simple-n-healthful-meal-planner-plate-method.html
2. As mentioned by several others, be really on top of portions. Here are some tips to help with estimating portions when logging:https://www.mynetdiary.com/estimating-portions-for-food-diary.html

3. Are you engaging in regular activity? I am not sure your age, fitness level, and schedule to allow for activity. If you are able, strive for a mix of aerobic and anerobic exercise each week. Make sure to check in with your doctor before engaging in a new exercise program. Here is an article that can help with building a workout that supports your health goals: https://www.mynetdiary.com/create-your-own-workout-plan.html

4. Here are a few articles that can also help with getting the scale moving-

In addition to what others said, another possibility is that the calorie targets that the app is giving you may be a bit too high. You may not have enough of a calorie deficit to lose weight.

A mistake that I made initially in using this app is that I set my activity level setting above the “sedentary” level — I didn’t think that I was sedentary since I regularly walk for exercise. However, since I both set my activity level higher AND was tracking my steps through the app, it was double counting the activity and setting my calorie target higher as a result. The solution was to set the activity level to sedentary.

Another thread indicated that sometimes the app computes your weight maintenance calorie requirements too high, due to individual differences. It’s possible that you might have to discount the calorie target that the app gives you.

Let me just add, a caloric deficit isn’t always enough. For me personally it greatly depends on what I eat. Eating nothing but junk foods, even if under my calorie limit, will not help me lose weight. Honestly just eating bread prevents me from losing weight. I discovered I have a sensitivity to breads, red meats, and products high in dairy. When I eat those foods I’m very bloated and my weight won’t lower. I once went two months without eating red meat or bread and I lose almost 30 pounds. This was while I was still going over my recommended calorie intake also.
So basically what you’re eating matter just as much if not more than just lowering calorie intake. Of course like others said exercise helps as well. Everyone’s bodies are different. Once you find what works for you that weight will come right off. Good luck!
