Losing weight before school Topic

Hello,
I know this is a little late to post, but I am currently on school holidays. I am 15 year old boy (nearly 16) and I want to lose some weight before I go back. There is currently 22 days until I go back. How can I lose a decent amount of weight in that timeframe? im starting to go to the gym 4 times a week. I am overweight (im 71.7kg at 164cm, im quite short lol) and I just want to feel better about myself before i start my exams which June time next year. I’ve tried to lose weight before but I never stick to my calorie deficit. Im currently trying to eat 2,000 calories a day (sometimes less). Any tips appreciated and thanks in advance :)

hi i’m 16, 5’3 119 lb female what worked well for me…

to loose weight and gain muscle, eat less food but eat more protein! try replacing regular snacks/ meals with healthier options. and don’t try to quit certain foods/drinks cold turkey remember to keep everything in moderation

I’m 36 and I was almost exactly your height/weight last year - my honest advice is use a BMR calculator to work out what your burn rate is and then track your calories to make sure you finish each day with 500 calories spare. Have porridge for breakfast, drink plenty of water and go for a 30-60min walk each day at the highest speed you can maintain. You’ll lose about 1.5-2kg if you maintain this routine. I did this and the weight dropped off me. Godspeed pal, good on you wanting to better yourself.

Hi there Joseph128- I hope this note finds you doing well~

Do your parents know you are struggling with your weight and reaching out for advice over the Internet?

We take health very seriously here at MyNetDiary and do not allow anyone under the age of 18 to track their food or use the site without the direct supervision of their parent or legal guardian https://www.mynetdiary.com/terms.html. This is for your safety.

While tracking food & exercise can be valuable for users wanting to improve their health, it can reinforce unhealthy behaviors for those with or at risk for disordered eating. I am concerned you may be struggling with disordered eating.

I would suggest working with a professional counselor to address body image. This resource can help: https://www.mynetdiary.com/eating-disorders-food-tracking.html

In addition, a registered dietitian can help you develop a healthy eating plan. This resource can help: https://www.eatright.org/find-a-nutrition-expert

Please talk with your parents. You deserve to feel good about yourself no matter your shape or size!

Please let me know if you received this~ Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)
