Low carb macro settings? Topic

I want to adjust my macro for lower carbs. I’m curious what others have changed their settings to. TIA!

I have read to lose weight you should be looking at protein 40-50%, fat 30-40% and carbs 10-30% (personally I think 10% is way too low).

The problem is all carbs are not created equal. Complex carbs are vital for both physical health & brain function. And fiber keeps us satiated for longer periods.

I’m still trying to learn about the carbs…for a short period (next month or so) I’m trying to cut out most carbs, because I was diagnosed with diabetes and my A1C was almost 13. I’m not sure which carbs are good and then someone told me to subtract the dietary fiber to get the real count?

The best advice I can give you is search the internet for low carb foods, stay away from sugar of any kind and white flour, processed foods…if it comes in a box stay away from it. I love the Keto lifestyle but some just want to do low carb so whatever works for you that you will stick with is best for you. Basically veggies will be most of your carbs if you stick to Whole Foods but like I said Google best low carb foods and you will get a list. Best Wishes!

CaptainAmerica88-I have diabetes too, diagnosed a year ago. It’s a personal disease and what may work for me might not work for you. The best way to see what spikes is to test your BS an hour after every time you eat and keep a food diary. It is more expensive than junk food but I love Adkins protein shakes and their meal replacement bars/snacks. I made rules for myself that it’s OK I eat some of the things I love but in moderation. Spaghetti, potatoes, and ice cream. Good luck!

Hi. Im on a carb diet of 67 mgs a day. Ive found that keto is to low for me to stick with it so im at a higher mgs. Ive lost 26 lbs and find it easier to stick with.
My problem is not losing but keeping the weight off. 😢
