New diet? Topic

Hello! I am on the calorie diet currently but I feel like I am not really losing weight after a couple of weeks. It is super frustrating, so what can I do? I run almost everyday and I’m on a pretty low calorie level. Is a different diet better perhaps?

Have patience you will.

Hi Elisabeth_Reid-
Welcome to MyNetDiary! I am sorry to hear the scale is not reflecting your hard work. I realize this is frustrating and can cause doubt in the process.

How much weight are you trying to lose? Have you dieted before and lost a large amount of weight and then regained it? Have you had weight loss surgery? Do you take medications that can make it harder to lose weight such as steroids or insulin?

These are just a few of the factors that impact weight loss as well as the rate at which you lose.

Be kind to yourself! Weight loss is challenging and it often takes longer than we think it should.

If you are eating healthy and balanced meals (this article may be helpful: https://www.mynetdiary.com/foods-for-good-nutrition.html) and drinking plenty of water (https://www.mynetdiary.com/how-much-should-you-drink.html) you should see results soon.

In addition to measuring progress on the scale, you might consider tracking different metrics that tend to improve as we adopt a healthier lifestyle. This article provides some ideas: https://www.mynetdiary.com/track-weight-loss-progress.html

Please keep us posted. We are cheering you on! Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

Elizabeth, I totally feel you, I have been working out consistently since August and have cut back on my calorie, fat, sugar, added protein and the weight is going no where. My body shape isn’t changing either. Know you are not alone!
