New to App and trying to choose which diet Topic

Hello all! I’m 68 yo and would like to drop about 30 lbs. I have lost weight before on other programs, but have gained it all back. I have hypothyroidism, which makes weight loss a little challenging, but I can do it. Which diet that is offered on this app would you suggest?
Thanks in advance!

I think the Mediterranean one is a good one but the diets that work best are those which you stick to.

I just joined this group and am 68 years old. It seems the older I got the harder it is to lose weight. Thankfully, when I lose some now I am better able to keep it off, but to lose weight I have to stick to 800 to 900 calories a day, which is not a lot. If I eat 1200 calories I maintain but don't lose. Anyone else finding this to be their situation. I do lead a pretty sedentary lifestyle, with bad knees and sciatica. Hoping this will improve as I lose weight. Current weight is 242 lbs.

I’m 76 and have been on diets since I was 10. I have not been successful in the past about keeping what I lost off. I’ve been eating 1400 calories a day. I gain what I’ve lost if I eat 1800 a day. My goal is 2lbs a month.? It is really hard to lose now. My cardiologist upped my blood pressure pills. I gained 4lbs. It is hard to
Lose those 4 now.
What do u eat for 800/900 calories a day?

I'm new to the group and have been yo-yoing weight since I was a teenager. I'm now 89 years old and my body has morphed into a giant middle spare tire. My weight has ranged from 112-145 lbs on a 4'11" frame. I would like to hook up with someone with whom to track progress. I think getting my weight down to about 120-125 will help keep me in good health. It's harder and harder to lose weight as I get older. I try to walk every day, and do stretches and weight lifting, including a 1200-1300 calories intake. Lowering that amount is difficult. I eat out a lot for social reasons, since I am a widow whose children don't live close by.

Hi U119...

I, too, have been on the weight loss track since I was 11. There are additional challenges to both WL and maintenance as we become older. I would glad to support your intention to
reach and maintain a weight that is healthy for you.

I decided to up my calories to 1250 a day to make sure my body didn't think I was starving myself. I lost 4 pounds after I did that. I usually seem to eat between 1100 and 1200. It is difficult to keep it that low, but I do eat a lot of dishes made with many vegetables. I eat egg white omelets, salads with very low calorie salad dressing, very little meat and very few snacks. When I do eat a snack it is counted into my calories for the day.

I felt as though I was writing to myself when I read this post. I, too, am 89 yrs old and 4'11" and struggling. Would like to communicate with you.
