On the cusp of 40lbs loss without an exercise regimen. Topic

I wanted to share for those of you that struggle with feeling like you have to do some mundane exercise regimen to lose weight.

When I decided to commit to losing weight, I also decided to not make a bunch of false promises to myself that I would never keep. I chose one thing to work on—food choices.

I track everything. If I can’t be honest with myself, why pretend I want to change.
I got a digital food scale and weigh everything. It’s tedious at first, but it gets easier.
I plan my meals with what I have BEFORE I’m hungry. I can always change my plan if needed.
I do everything I can to walk farther and move more. Park further from the door, carry a basket rather than push a cart for a few items.
I don’t eliminate anything from my diet. It’s all about portion control.
I pre-measure my snacks and treats. When I buy a bag of chips, I weigh out each portion and save those for a munchies attack. I would never stop reaching in the bag otherwise.
I don’t try to be perfect, I only do my best, and only I know what that is (again with the being honest with myself)

And finally, be patient. I write this as I just moved past a 6 week plateau. I felt frustrated and wanted to give up, but here we are 3 more pounds down and more determined than ever.

If you’re still reading this, I hope this post helps anyone struggling. It’s taken me 6 months to get this organized. But remember it all started with making one change.

❤️❤️

Hi loosen-up thank you for your post it has given me the push I need to carry on and be honest with myself✅

Hi Loosen_up- Thank you so much for sharing your progress and what has worked for you!

Loosen_up is right! In two months I have lost 35-38 pounds, my wife 8 pounds and my daughter 20 pounds. I also don't leave anything to chance and that is why I decided not to eat out and cook the recipes that I found in the application. I compare everything I weigh and everything I buy in nutritional quality (net carbohydrate content, fiber, saturated fat, protein and salt intake). I avoid processing due to its salt content. I have bought about 30 spices to add flavor and good taste to the food. I have never cooked, but I found passion and meridian certainty in preparing my food. Most of us men have more time to buy and prepare food than working ladies! All the small cities of the world have markets with highly nutritious and health-beneficial foods. Replacing a bad habit can take 21 to 30 days. Changing habits toward healthy nutrition takes extra time to find, measure, learn, and test what works.

I so agree with this .. keep it simple but be consistent and honest .. love this😊

Inspiring 🎉 I’m kinda doing the same plan as you except I’m not organized yet, I appreciate your post such that it shows me the position control plan works long term. Like you said, I don’t enjoy exercise per say, do I do things I know I won’t not do. Like stand instead of sit when possible, ride my stationary bike casually instead of sit on the couch and I did find that even though I don’t like to run I do like to walk fast on my treadmill so I do that 5 or 6 times a week for an hour or so and that seems to help. I look forward to reaching my goal and just wanted to say it really helps me when other people share their stories with me. Thanks again and I’m rooting for you 👍🏻

Thank you all for sharing a bit about what is working for you! It is educational and inspiring. Keep it up! Best, Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

Focusing only on reducing weight through a low calorie diet, and its variants, as the only measure to contain overweight, obesity, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, and thus avoid atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease is insufficient. Behind these diseases a continuous inflammatory process develops that does not stop with weight loss. There is evidence that the deleterious effects of this inflationary process are significantly improved with the addition of physical exercise.

Loosen Up: Thanks for sharing. What your doing will change the rest of your life. Congratulations
