Ozampic and weight loss Topic

Anyone using the weight loss drug and losing weight? Any tips for a newbie

I started injections 2 weeks ago and losing about 2 pounds a week. I exercise daily and watch my caloric intake. I am insulin resistant and this helps me stay healthy

I actually tried to get it for just my diabetes, and could not get it due to people without diabetes using it for injections.

I also had an issue getting the Ozempic injections for my diabetes I went a month without getting it due to people using it just for weight loss
Only as weight loss

Sorry you had to go through that.
I personally had my Doctor prescribe Ozempic before anyone had alerted those not Diabetic (but showed signs of pre-diabetes) at double my recommended weight for height/age. This meant that after the first script the next option due to banning it from anyone not diabetic which is also subsidised, was a jump of $150. For Ozempic with 1 X weekly dose to paying $387. For daily doses of Saxenda. A massive increase in cost and dosage for same effect.
I hope the health sector and weight loss community are certainly sticking to responsible management of the market demand and urgent medical needs?
I also hope there is compassion & understanding for those of us who have struggled for most of their life on the morbidly obese category (myself 127kg before 5th June last year 2022) to getting the truly practical medical help needed to achieve 43kg loss in 41 weeks.
This is the most success I have ever had in my whole life with the help of this App.
Wishing all who read this the best of luck in their health goals.

Hi! My doctor just ordered me Ozempic.. Even though I was a bit stand-offish about it. I'm worried about any side effects that I might experience. I took medication, for weight loss, last year and had the worst reaction. One dose and I felt like my insides were on fire for the next 24 hours.
So, can anyone advise me on their experience starting Ozempic? I have the prescription here, still in the box. πŸ˜‘ But I really am hopeful it will help me.
Thank you πŸ˜‚

Just so people know. The drug for diabetes and the one for weight loss are completely different drugs. They have different names. So it is not people who are using it for weight loss being the reason you cannot get it. It’s that your insurance denied the auth for it. Meaning it’s not medically necessary according to them or it’s not part of their formulary meds. Have your doctor do a peer to peer and they will approve it.

Looking for some additional information on the weight loss injections Saxenda (liraglutide) or Wegovy (semaglutide)?
