Hi Joanna.

Thank you. I’m glad to be a loyal Premium user!

I took a few breaks with tracking due to several significant life events. The great news is that I’m back on track and I have lost 14 lbs over the last 39 days.

That’s great to know that the developers welcome feedback.

Have a great day!

Hi U1194299352-
Welcome back and strong work on your weight loss! Tracking certainly is a powerful tool to see how our habits impact our health goals. Take care, Joanna

I got the free version a few years ago, but didn’t stick with it at the time. Then in late Jan, my husband got started with the Libre3, and for two weeks had to keep an accurate (as opposed to the usual guessing) record of his carbs and insulin for the initial sensor that downloads glucose info for the doctor to evaluate. We kept referring back to this app for carb counts, and it was revealing, to say the least! At the same time, I myself had gotten an A1C test result of 7.1, and had to start testing daily and take more meds. I REALLY don’t want to start using insulin, so decided to go with the Pro version, and start tracking my own meals. Pleasantly surprised that my husband decided to keep up with it too, it’s more fun with the support of a partner. With the more accurate carb counts, he’s decreased his insulin usage a lot (under direction of a doctor of course), and we’ve both lost weight! He’s lost about 25#, and I’m down 23# so far, just since late January. We both use the carb count for the main tracking unit, as that’s the most important for diabetes. We both have a ways to go, but cleaning out my closet and buying clothes 2 sizes smaller is VERY encouraging! Love that I can enter my recipes, like chili and tuna casserole, etc. Then I send it to hubby, and he has it saved in his foods. Love the flexibility, large amount of things to track, and the fact that it is managed by people who actually have the right credentials to offer advice. (No Dr. Oz here!) One other bonus for me; I use a glucose monitor that connects with Apple Health, and this app does too, so when I test it automatically transfers back to this app. Hubby manually enters his, as the Libre doesn’t connect, but that would be tricky, and too much info, as the Libre tracks 24 hours.
The only thing that trips us up is some foods only have serving or weight to choose from, and if you don’t have the original container, don’t know what a serving is. The potion guide helps sometimes, but not always. Like spaghetti, I prefer to measure in cups if possible, easier to evaluate. (Ever try putting cooked spaghetti on a scale?) Just a suggestion.
And if anyone has ideas how to deal with potluck suppers, let me know. THAT is a challenge! Sometimes have to wing it. 😉
All in all, love the app, it’s doing more for us than anything we’ve tried before! Bravo!

I would love to go premium but don’t do subscription of any kind period. I’ve asked about a one time payment for a lifetime option but so far it hasn’t happened. I have lifetime on two apps I’ve used for years and it’s well worth it to me. ………I’ve had to watch my weight all my adult life. There is no finish line for me, just daily stewardship of the one life I’ve been given. Please consider a lifetime option! Have a 4th of July sale :) thank you

They should offer at least a lower version of premium that has maybe half the features for one-time fee.. but I don’t think it’ll happen

If I had seen the 50% off deal someone mentioned I might’ve jumped on that, either way it’s a great app

I purchased the premium almost immediately after joining as I noticed I can get a lot more in-depth analysis On my macros, nutrients, weight trends, etc. I personally prefer to have all options unlocked and available to me. It’s very reasonably priced and I love having everything at my fingertips.

Hi Mothership-
Thank you for the positive review! Strong work to you and your husband. Wow, weight loss and insulin reduction. I bet your A1C will be reflecting your hard work. Way to go!
A lot of my clients find the "plate" method really helpful when navigating potlucks. This article provides additional information: https://www.mynetdiary.com/healthy-plate-method.html
Have a great day! Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

I'll give it a shot, but what I've been doing is trying to summarize the hot dishes (usually a spoonful or so each) with a common hot dish I can find on the foods list (like tater-tot hot dish), since most have some rice, pasta or potatoes mixed with some veggies and meat. Same applies to any noodle cold salads (tuna salad, macaroni salad, etc.), or taco salads, lettuce salads, jello salads, etc. You get the picture. And of course desserts. :/ Fortunately these types of meals don't happen every week, but graduations, church suppers and such do come up more in the summer. One trick I have is to get my salads first, finish them, then go back for hot dishes. With the exception of macaroni/pasta salads, most are lower in carbs, so less room for the high-carb hot dishes. And less room for desserts too!

One more question:
How do I get the dashboard on the website to reflect the same things as my app? I use the Diabetes version, and prefer to have the carb count rather than the calorie count wheel showing. Plus missing the glucose and medication logins as well. Is there a separate website for that version of the app? Thanks!

Hi Mothership,

This video walks you through how to customize your dashboard: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyQeRA2TjMI
