Saxenda Topic

hey i started saxenda today

I started Saxenda on July 8. I'm at 1.2mg for the next two days, then I move to 2.4mg.

I started on July 24. How is everyone doing? No side effects but my ‘won’t’ power has definitely increased.

I’m taking semaglutide. Just finishing my first week on initial dose.

I am still on Saxenda. I am down over 23 pounds now. Out of the obese category. Heading to normal.

Hi Scarlet- Awesome work on your weight loss! Any words of wisdom you might provide to others who are just getting started?
How has the medication helped with appetite and portion control?
Thanks in advance~ Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

Hi Joanna ! I am down over 29 pounds now. Definitely harder now as I get lighter as my body needs less calories now. But appetite wise my tastes are really changing. I rarely want to eat salty or sugary foods. Also I am not interested in eating between meals now. My words of wisdom are don’t forget your shot and don’t lower your dose to make the pens last longer. Boy, does that mess with the weight loss. (The voice of experience, there).

Hi Scarlet- Thanks for the update. Sounds like things are going well for you. Way to stay the course! Thank you for sharing your experience with Saxenda. It is so helpful to hear from someone who has taken this medication AND had great results. Take Care, Joanna

I have started taking Saxenda on 5th Dec. starting weight 105.5, as of 24th December it’s 100.8 (4.4kg in 19 days). Two weeks of vlcd, and now on low carb 1200 cal diet.

Hi there U1193944493-
Thank you for reaching out and providing this update! I am sure you are very pleased with your results. These new weight loss medications are very powerful and your results are exceeding clinical/predicted expectations.
I am assuming you are receiving medical monitoring? Please make sure you are seeing your doctor and dietitian regularly to ensure your health (blood pressure and blood sugar for example) are not dropping too quickly and you are meeting your micro and macronutrient needs on the 1200-calorie, low-carb diet.
Happy Holidays~ Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)
