Side effects KetoDiet Topic

Hi, everyone. I’m new posting on this forum so I’m not sure if anyone will be able to read this.

I started using MyNetDiary 3 weeks ago, to lose weight - I started the first week calorie counting but I didn’t see any results despite being very strict on what I ate. I decided to go for the KetoDiet as I had used it in the past and I had fast results, however, I didn’t like that it was too limited in the food choices, but I still gave it a go and as before I saw good results. I lost 2.0kg first week on KetoDiet and 1.7kg on the second one.

This week I’ve started to feel weak, specially yesterday night when I had some beef and pork mince meat. Also, I bought a blood glucose monitor as I was interested in checking my ketones level after reading a article about monitoring ketones. I got 3.6mmol/l (not sure if that is good as you read loads of things on the internet)

I am not quite sure if feeling dizzy has something to do with the food I had or the ‘test’ I had as I felt really weak and dizzy after doing both.

Today I’ve been feeling worried and thinking that I might be harming my body for counting carbs, however, I feel great with the results and I am eating 3 times a day, but I’m not sure why these past 2 days I feel weak. I feel like giving up the diet even though I don’t want to, but I’m very worried that I might be doing something bad to my body.

Somehow I feel disappointed as when I was eating a lot of junk food and thousands of carbs, I never felt ill and now that I’m trying to eat healthy and being more aware of what I eat, I suddenly feel weak and that worries me a lot. I don’t know what do and I hope you can give me some advice if you have experience something similar. I will appreciate it.

Best,

Good luck hope everything works out and you feel better now

Most likely your electrolytes are low. You need to take a magnesium, sodium, potassium and calcium supplement when eating low carb. I take Magnesium Miracle . And eat Redmans Salt.

Thanks for your advice U6605427, very much appreciated.

At about the first week of a keto diet you will experience something called the keto flu. It is because your body is craving carbs more than anything else. There are solutions to this. But understand that your body is taking a hard line transition from one means of fuel to another means.

𝗶 𝗮𝗺 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻. 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲. 𝗶 𝗱𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲.

If you have just made a drastic diet change your body may be experiencing a detox which is really good. I also did not like the idea of so much meat and fats and no fruits . So now I’m in a calorie deficit and it gives me that opportunity to eat a wider variety although I try to keep it clean limiting or completely cutting oil, sugar and most bread, rice, etc. I’ve been striving to make my calories count. I hope you feel better drink lots of water it may help!
