Slower loss/in the red Topic

Hi U1188290291,

Here is Sue's answer:

Hi Pickleniccckkk,
I understand that the red color can be disheartening. We are working on a revision to use a different color when users are in the "slower loss" calorie range, knowing that this still represents progress!
However, you should not be getting a red color when you are below your target calorie intake. Would you be willing to send a screenshot to support@mynetdiary.com so we can help troubleshoot what is happening?
Thanks so much!

It says slower loss when you haven’t updated your weight in a while so it assumes that you are still at the last weight you updated, while in your plan you’re supposed to be at a lower weight because time has passed. So to insure that you meet your goal weight in time it cuts your calorie needs without telling you? Thats where the slower loss while you still have calories left comes from I think. Ik its confusing but thats what I figured.

Hi U1187109524,
Thanks for your response!
That is true that your calorie needs for weight loss will decrease when you are at a lower weight. It is a bummer, but it is the nature of weight loss. We do recommend you update your weight at least weekly to keep your plan on course for meeting your goal. The Autopilot feature for Premium members will adjust your calorie target to meet your goal every time you enter a new weight.
Happy tracking!

Best,

I’m at a loss, so to speak. I am well under my recommended calorie intake everyday, but am not losing weight at all. Been on this for over a month and am at same weight as when I started. Needless to say it has been frustrating.

Hi U1188442539- I apologize for the delay in getting back with you about your weight plateau.
Here are a few resources that can help get the scale moving again.
1. https://www.mynetdiary.com/have-you-been-dieting-and-exercising-but-not-losing-weight-try-these-proven-plateau-solutions.html
2. https://www.mynetdiary.com/keep-your-motivation-tank-from-dipping-too-low.html
3. Are you logging your exercise? If you log exercise, then use the overall activity level of sedentary to avoid double-counting exercise calories.
MyNetDiary uses the Institute of Medicine's DRI energy equations, which already include activities of daily living and incidental walking up to about a mile (about 15-20 minutes’ worth of incidental walking). Therefore, even the sedentary overall activity level includes sleeping, cooking, reading, etc., so do not log those items. I would also encourage you to not add exercise calories back to your calorie budget. This is not to say we don't suggest exercise. Exercise on a regular basis can help break a plateau and ensure you keep the weight off once you get to goal. Just make sure to not eat back the calories your burned during your workout.
Hang in there! Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)
