Weight gain Topic

I’m 17 years old and I’m trying to gain weight is there any tips?

Make sure you eat enough protein. Building muscle is also a way to gain weight. Again protein. Use real butter, not margarine. Healthy fats.

In order to be gaining muscle with protein you have to be training for hypertrophy, so if you want to gain weight without eating lots of protein just make sure you are in a caloric surplus, around 500 calories above your maintenance calories

It also can be hard to gain weight with protein as it fills you up fast.

Also it doesn’t really matter what you eat you can eat “healthy fats” or “unhealthy fats” you can still gain weight with both, just make sure to count what you are eating!

Hi U1196582833,

To gain weight, you need a surplus of calories. Tracking can help you achieve that. I would aim for three meals plus three snacks per day. Make sure your snacks are not too close to the next meal so you have an appetite at meals. Pack in healthy fats and calorie boosters like nuts, seeds, nut butter, olive oil, and cheese. It is amazing how they add up. Here is an article on weight gain you may find helpful.
