Weight Gain With CKD/Dialysis? Topic

Need specific health related advice... Anyone on here with CKD and on Dialysis?
Plus trying to GAIN Weight? 5 years ago I was healthy. Ate home grown organic meals. Went to spinning, kettleworks, boxing, zumba classes as well as walked, ran and cycled a lot to work. Sounds a bit to much for the average person I know but I varied things up to stop getting bored. Then my kidneys failed. Within a year I was on dialysis. I went to gym rehab as loss of protein meant I lost all of my muscle mass. Then I had a ‘heart’ event making exercise so hard. For a few years my energy has been low and my weight way too low. Want to fix these. I’m 54kg wanting to be 59+ as I’m tall. Obviously my diet is limited. Lonhgshot I know but I’m hopeful.

Hi U1190031509-
Gaining weight and gaining muscle while on dialysis can be challenging!

Here are some general tips for weight gain, though don't stop here. https://www.mynetdiary.com/tips-for-healthy-weight-gain.html
I'd suggest meeting individually with the dietitian at your dialysis center. They can develop a personalized plan to meet your needs while taking into account your potassium, phosphorus, protein and fluid requirements. In the meantime, keep on tracking, though remember to keep things in perspective. You sound very motivated and focused and yet your body has been through a lot in the last 5 years. Make sure to take it easy on your body as you move through this process of gaining muscle and feeling more like your old-self:)
