Weight loss?
How can I lose weight when all I’ve been doing is walking 30 minutes in the mornings
And 30 minutes at night
The scale is just moving up and not down like I would like it to.
I’m also a type 1 diabetic so I know how to eat healthy but the thing is I’m having trouble losing weight
I need help!

What kind of things are you eating? For me if I cut out carbs I lose weight the minute I put carbs back in the diet it stops..

Hi there U1189889874-

It sounds like you have a foundation in healthy eating and living! That is going to help you see the results you are looking for.
Taking daily insulin can make it harder to lose weight, though not impossible. Here are a few tips to get the scale moving:

1. How's the tracking going? Are you mapping out your meals ahead of time and making sure not to over-do-it on the carbohydrates? Eating too many carbs will require you to take more insulin to manage blood sugars, which then makes it harder to lose weight. Here are some tips on meal planning: https://www.mynetdiary.com/same-old-same-old-how-to-get-out-of-your-cooking-rut.html
2. When's the last time you stepped back and weighed and measured your portions? This will not only help with weight loss (Even Dietitians under-estimate portions if they don't weigh and measure:) ) but will also help with carb counting and meal-time insulin dosing.
Here's an article on estimating portions: https://www.mynetdiary.com/estimating-portions-for-food-diary.html
3. Different strategies work for different people, So check out this blog post for hidden reasons why you might not be losing:https://www.mynetdiary.com/have-you-been-dieting-and-exercising-but-not-losing-weight-try-these-proven-plateau-solutions.html
4. Finally, when is the last time you went to the doctor to check your blood pressure, labs, overall health? Having type 1 diabetes requires multiple doctor visits each year with various different providers. If you continue to be stuck with your weight, perhaps a visit with your doctor (to check for other underlying health issues) is in order?

Please keep us posted! All the best in your weight loss journey, Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)
