I’ve been getting stressed when I go near my calorie goal. I feel more comfortable when I eat 800-900 calories, despite my 1,500 calorie limit. Why?

you may be treating it as a limit rather than a goal.

Hi U1194731360-

We suggest not going below 1500 calories a day. It is difficult to reach your macro and micronutrient targets on 800-900 calories a day.

While tracking food & exercise can be valuable for users wanting to improve their health, it can reinforce unhealthy behaviors for those with or at risk of developing an eating disorder. Sometimes when individuals "feel best" eating below their energy needs, they are struggling with disordered eating. Eating disorders are serious.

The app prohibits anyone with an active eating disorder from tracking and using the app. Research has shown that tracking while struggling with an eating disorder can make things worse. Here are our terms and conditions for your review: https://www.mynetdiary.com/terms.html

In addition, here is some important information about disordered eating with resources for help: https://www.mynetdiary.com/do-no-harm-mynetdiary-supports-healthful-eating.html

If you feel you are struggling with how you look, otherwise known as body image, or with eating enough to fuel your body, I would suggest getting help from a professional counselor.

Wishing you the best in feeling good both inside and out! Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

I’ll keep this in mind
