What’s the difference between net carbs and carbs Topic

I’m
On a keto diet and I don’t understand how I can make a breakfast with avocado and bacon which is under 5G of net carbs but in my daily allowance of carbs it’s near 20g . How am I supposed to work out my meals if when I post my breakfast it looks like I’ve got lots of net carbs left in my diet but app saying I’ve none in carbs

Net is total carbs - fiber. Are you a premium member? If so you can set it to track net carbs. If not, you’ll need to do a bit of math, but it’s not too bad..

But I don’t understand still. On keto am I counting net carbs or carbs

Hi U1191521349,
On the keto diet, you track net carbs. You can go into your settings and select net carbs to track. Net carb is total carb minus fiber. For example, 12 almonds have about 3 grams of total carb and 2 grams of fiber. Subtract 2 grams of fiber from 3 grams of total carb to get 1 gram of net carb. Tracking net carbs will allow you to include more healthy vegetables, nuts, and seeds in your plan.

You may find our library of keto articles useful as you apply the diet.
