12.5 pounds/ 3 inches of stomach in 3 weeks. Topic

Hi! So far I’ve lost 12.5 pounds in the first 3 weeks of this very difficult journey, so far I have not cheated once and I have been consistent with my eating and exercising. I have 45 more pounds to lose, which takes me to my next point, how difficult it is to maintain consistency when changes are not as apparent to you. Measuring yourself at the start makes a huge different in your overall mind set, seeing results by the way of inches lost is one of the best ways to maintain a consistent work ethic. I’m as prouder to say I’ve lost 3 inches of my stomach, as the 12.5 pounds lost so far.

Understanding that when you start at a high weight ratio, such as the one I started with, you will not see much different, other than the way your clothes fit you. When you meet new people they will still see you as overweight even though you are working very hard to lose those pounds, you need to understand you’re not “skinner”, if not less overweight.

To end my post, measure, measure measure, and weight yourself once per week, create a consistent habit of eating healthier and working out at least 3-4 times per week and you will start to see results.

Congrats Jaimediaz90!

You are off to an impressive start! Yes, measuring inches can be very rewarding and the exercise will help change body composition as well. I also like your point of creating a consistent habit of healthy eating and exercise. We are creatures of habit, for sure, so make them healthy!

Thanks for sharing inspirational thoughts for all! Brenda (Dietitian)

JD90 - You are off to a really good start. I can relate to everything you said. It’s really hard for me to stay on track (so this is my own personal area I want desperately to overcome) not seeing results quickly enough and then when stress hits, I tend to eat the wrong foods. I never reach my goal and the longer I am off track, the more I get disappointed in myself. That’s where having the strong support team comes in. So for me this is the area I want to work on to set the foundation.

Keep up the hard work, and please post your progress too. Even if we have tougher days, those are important too, to reach out for encouragement and support. REAL, this is what makes strong support and then offering strong strategies that help each one of us. That’s where I want to be, I’m just not there yet.

I look forward and I’m sure others do to, to hearing your progress and cheering you on! And also to offer support if you hit a harder day.

Thank you very much for the encouragement! I weight myself every Sunday, this past Sunday I was down 17.7 pounds. A little closer to my goals.

Congratulations, Jaimediaz90! 17.7 lbs is a lot of weight loss - great to hear!

Awesome! Keep up the good work
