1st week of January Topic

Wow - the gym has been really crowded this week. I'm psyched - we are all making time to exercise. I do feel better after going to the gym - it is worth the time!

Yeah, this Saturday was really crazy. Almost every cardio machine was in use. Luckily I got my beloved cross trainer because I came in 10 minutes early ;)

I also bought myself an exercise bike, both for my (lazy) son and so that I can exercise on the days where I cannot get to the gym before closing time, so now I'll be back to moving 7 days a week :D

Excellent - good for you! We don't have an aerobic machine at home but I do have 2 flights of stairs that work pretty well for exercise when I can't go outside or get to the gym.

How cold is it outside where you live? Our cold snap here in Boulder has been below 10F - too cold for me unless I am cross-country skiing (which requires more snow than we have right now).

It's been insanely cold this winter. Which in your terms is a spring day I guess. Around -10C which is about 14F. But normally it's around freezing, so 32-ish.

Because of my neuropathy I am not allowed to run. I guess I could ride my bike, but I need a new one for that :) Might be a plan for this summer though :D

Hello everybodies from my first post!
I take advantage from a cold winter skiing all week ends. In 2 days burned around 3000 calories.

Welcome, Fabio67! That caloric burn must be from cross-country skiing (nordic), correct?

Best,

Kathy

Hy Kathy, sorry for delay in responding you! I work in Milan but all week ends I'm in Courmayeur (Mont Blanc), so if there is a sunny day I spend all day on slopes (downhill ski), if the weather isn't good I have a couple of hours of cross country ski. For this second exercise is easier to calculate burned calories (also thanks Garmin CardioFitness I've just bought). Anyway, I'm strongly determinated to lose the "obese status" and for the first time in my life (43 years old), I'm sure to this goal within next 3 months. Good luck and all the best to everyone.
