Wow- I can't believe it is already 1/17/11! Check in - how did your weekend go? Mine was fine - higher caloric intake but skiied at high altitude and burned a decent amount of calories. Net calories decent despite the bar food Satuday night!

Sounds like you had a fun week :D
Mine was really good. Did great on both the calories and the exercise. Had a nice quiet weekend with the kids. My daughter went to a friends birthday party and we had spicy spaghetti with meat sauce, which my son REALLY loved. "Dad, my mouth is on fire!" he said with a huge grin. Too funny ;)
On Saturday we'll be going to my Grandmothers 95th birthday, and I was asked to bring a low-calorie, sugar free cake, which are actually always a hit. :)
I will make my banana/chocolate cake, which is about 150 calories a slice and it has no added fat. :) (Yes yes, I know, there's fat in chocolate, but you know what I mean..)

OMG, Sune, you have to share that recipe with the team! Sounds delicious - two yummy ingredients.
I hope you enjoy your grandmother's birthday party. We should all live so long!
Good to hear from you!

I'll give it to you in metric:
170 gram sugar (or baking sugar substitute. I used 100 grams of Perfect Fit)
3 eggs
125 gram wheat flour
1 tsp bagepulver
2 tsp vanilasugar (powder)
4 tsp vanilla essence (fluid)
4 bananas
200 gram dark chocolate (100 gram in the cake, 100 gram on top)
Mix all dry ingredients and mix in the eggs. Add baking powder and vanilla. Mash 4 medium sized bananas and mix them in. Chop chocolate into chunks and put them in the batter. Put baking paper in the pan or use a non-stick pan and pour in the batter. Bake the cake for 45 minutes at about 170 degrees (Celcius). Honestly it took more like 55 minutes before the knife came out clean, so just start checking it at 45 :)
Let it cool off a bit, and them melt the rest of the chocolate (microwave works fine) and pour it on to. Refrigerate until the chocolate has hardened.
If done with Perfect Fit it's about 150 kcal per piece, but I'm sure you can do you own calculations :)

Oh oh, I think some of your ingredients might be hard to get (or perhaps the names are different):
bagepulver - is that a baking powder or soda?
vanilasugar - is that sugar infused with vanilla extract?
Thanks for the recipe, Sune!

Woops. I copied and translated. I guess I forgot something. Bagepulver is just regular baking powder. Vanillasugar is sugar infused, but I am sure you can drop it for the fluid extract alone :)

Great birthday. :)
There was a lot of great food there, but I stuck to my sister's red beet whole grain bread with a bit of cheese and a piece of my cake. It was about 500 calories in all, which is pretty good for a birthday lunch :)
Hope everybody had a great weekend :)

I haven't posted on a community forum before but thought this would be a good place to start! I started MND on Jan 4th and have lost 7 pounds so far. Tried dieting before but was never able to stay focused. I figure, if I join the forum, it will help hold me accountable and keep me focused as I really want to lose 85lbs. Short term goal is to lose at least 30lbs in time for my cruise thru the Panama Canal at the end of April. I'm lucky my boyfriend is very supportive and is helping to try and find fun activities that do not feel like exercise! :-) We have discovered the beauty of snowshoeing and are loving every minute of it. Thanks so much for having an avenue of support that folks like me coudl really use!
