Hi everyone! I am doing better but still need to improve. Just tested blood for the first time in months (didn't have enough $ for strips :(() & it appears to be doing better than I thought. But it can always be better. My blood pressure is a little higher than I like but stress is playing a part of that & I know what it is. Self discipline is mandatory & I will continue to work on that. Lunch is difficult as salads get boring quick for me. I have incorporated Greek Yogurt & Plain non fat yogurt into my life. I even found an excellent potato salad with yogurt & my husband even said it is a keeper. Need to work on deviled eggs now! I'm hoping that if I share it will encourage me to fight the battle better.
Any suggestions are always welcomed!

Just signed up. 67 yo male from Metro Nashville. Take 12 pills per day for bp, anxiety, depression, GERD, RLS, high cholesterol etc. I have survived infant whooping cough, pnemonia, cancer, a near heart attack and now they tell me that I am a Type 2 Diabetic. Ain't the golden years grand? I weigh 199 lbs and my first goal is to get back to 175. My dietician wants me to not go over 1800 calories but I have not yet figured out how to make my plan understand that. Well, it is cloudy and cold and I am sitting here drinking my hot toddy, so all is not lost.

I am 70 and need to lose. It is now or never. Any ideas? I have a wrist pedometer but went to the store and walked around and it did not register near what it should have. I am thinking I had my arm on the cart and am wondering if your arms have to be down when you walk. I am thinking I need a wifi one for an accurate count.

I'm 75. I think arms have to be down. I use a cart. I have noticed my Apple watch doesn't record my steps when I hold onto the cart.
I need to lose 75-100 lbs. I've been on diets since 10 years old and lost and gained my whole life. I find it difficult now at this age and health. I eat less but I move less now. I gain weight really easily.I also have a hard time in the evening. I'm not giving up cause I want to do this for my health. I'd like to live another 10 or 15 years.

I am new to this group and netdiary. I am 60 and live on the east coast of Canada. The past two years I e been battling constant upper respiratory infections. I can no longer work, am on disability. We figured out the upper respiratory issues after having died from a heart attack caused by sepsis. The doctors did not think I would pull thru. I showed them! Guess I’m not done here yet. I deal with chronic exhaustion, fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease etc etc. All that to say exercises is not possible yet. Even getting 2000 steps a day is hard. I want to lose 99 more pounds. I lost 60 lbs last year, not in a healthy way.
My short term goals are getting up to 5000 steps in three months and 50lbs by July. I’m down 5.4 in the 17 days I’ve been doing this and averaging 1500 steps. Progress not perfection. I can use all the help I can get.

I know how you feel! I started my first diet at age 5. I was larger than other kids but I wasn’t fat. I was taller and larger frame. My mother was embarrassed of me. She belittled me every chance she could. I have gained and lost hundreds of pounds and here I am again. Alone I can’t, together we can!
