Another Hi & Intro Topic

Hi, I'm new. I have no idea what is considered normal in groups like this, so I thought I'd say hi and tell you about my weight loss plan.

I'm ready for a change, not because I feel I have to, but because I'm just tired of being overweight. The benefit of being socially invisible when fat no longer outweighs the benefits of being lean(er) and health(ier). I like me the way I am now (I think... most of the time at least). My goal is purely for myself this time and not part of some grand master plan or on obsession level. I want to keep my personality and self now, but put her into a smaller, more compact body; the easier for me to maneuver through life with and do the crazy things I want to do. I have a really creative, energetic mind trapped in a very large, slow, cumbersome body. I'd like to make a series of small changes that, in time, will result in an achieved goal.

Currently I'm doing weekly goals and trying not to focus too much on overall goals. I'm 1 week down, 16lbs lost (I know it sounds unhealthy but that's VERY typical for me AND I was weighed last week all bloated from Nature's time of the month so who really knows WTH it really was) and heading into week 2 tomorrow. This week's goal was to exercise 5 days & watch what I ate and make overall healthy, reasonable decisions; both were achieved. Next week's goal is to start documenting my food (that's where mynetdiary comes into the scene) and continue exercising 5 days a week, gradually increasing the time by 10% every day.

That's it. Thanks!

Those are great goals! I find logging food really helps me.

I feel we define healthy for ourselves, you're coming to your decisions in a healthy way. Wanting to feel good is a much better motivator that feeling pressure to look a certain way.

Good luck on your journey! And looking forward to hearing more from you in the future.
