Another week, another pound :) Topic

So, this week I can't seem to get DD to work out with me. She is still committing to healthy meals & snacks & portion control. It's harder & harder to offer activities that don't seem like exercise with the cold snap. I had a little set back myself & skipped yesterday due to 3 days of migraines. I had also been feeling a bit like I wasn't seeing enough benefit from my efforts since my weight loss is only at about a pound a week (I know really that's great) - while DH had lost the same number of pounds I had even though he is not as strict about his diet & hasn't added any exercise to his routine. So, I figured those pounds as a percentage of our overall body weight & I feel much better now.

I am having some of the same troubles. The past couple of weeks I have only lost like 1-1.5lbs per week! It is really hard to keep going with such little results. But I suppose 1 is better than 0!

Goodness, 1-1.5 lbs/wk is a great wt loss progression!
Remember that we all lose weight at our own pace. Prediction equations are just that - estimations of our energy expenditure. And even tracking perfectly still has undiscovered sources of error. We do the best we can and not give up!
Best,

Are you eating enough? If you don't your body will go into starvation mode which= no weight or low weight loss as your body thinks it needs to hold onto the fat. Do you go below 1,000 calories per ay often? If you loss muscle you will decease your ablity to loss weight as it is muscle that burns fat. Fran

1- 1.5lbs. is great!! Keep up the good work. Wouldn't it be nice if we could magically disappear 10 lbs like they always seem to on TV or in the magazines???

Thanks guys! I def needed a pep talk. I eat 1400 cals per day and workout 3 days a week. Recently I had the Mirena IUD removed and I think that was holding my weight loss back some. Hope to start seeing some 2's and 3's

Meds can make a difference. I made the mistake of going off some meds so that I could lose weight easier. Well... the weight did come off more quickly but within 6 months I wasn't sleeping, constant pain, and depressed (SURPRISE!!) This time I am trying to be satisfied with losing more slowly but hopefully longer lasting and healthily. It is not easy but look how well you are doing! As for DD not working out with you - just make sure that you are working out. You're a great role model. It would be awful if it became the source of a power struggle that no one wins. Also, beware of hormonal swings etc. Exercise will really help as your body adjusts to being without the Mirena . Hopefully it'll be a piece of cake! (poor choice of words!!!)
Hang in there
Another week, another pound :)
