I'm hoping I'm not the only one around. I'm new here and want to help make a difference in your life by bringing a smile and a pat on the back. Hoping for the same in return.
So.... If you are reading this and having success, FANTASTIC! Nice job! If you are maybe not so much heading where you had hoped, nice job for reading this. It means you care, and that in itself is meaningful. Hop back on the horse!
I'd love to hear from you ( or y'all depending on where you are).
Cheers,

Hi, Skampp! Hope you are seeing a huge benefit to MyNetDiary. MND is great - when I log food, I find it truly makes me either realize I have to work out or need to cut something out....and the results follow! When I don't use it ... surprise! ... I am less likely to stay active. What's your plan for MND? Are you having success?

I just read your other blog entry on your 12 kids (yes, I did say, wow, 12?!) ... congrats on such a strong start. My best advice -- as you drop a size, get rid of the old size clothes you have. Maybe keep one thing -- because if your clothes don't fit and you have not other choice, I find that it makes me get back on track because they are SO UNCOMFORTABLE!

Thanks for the responses! Nice to not be alone. I started at around 211 and for the last few weeks have dropped around 2lbs/week. I look for it to slow down but my goal is 180 by 28 April. We'll see. As for a plan, I plugged that info into MND and have been faithful to log everything. It is doing the work for me as long as I'm honest and try just a little.
The only thing I'm really over on is sodium. To get a breakfast cereal that doesn't taste like cardboard and has a fair amount of fiber, the sodium seems sky high. Anyone found a good one yet?

The only one I've had luck with is oatmeal - Coach's Oats which is at Costco if you have a membership. Kind of like soup - you really have to decide to deal with the higher sodium or avoid it. Oatmeals the only alternative I have found. As far as logging, I like your comment. Iguess the sayiing of the day is "Keep it Honest!" because to make it work, it has to be logged. Good luck!

Oatmeal or Quinoa are both great breakfast cereals. Add some frozen berries to the water and add a bit of maple syrup. Delicious

I don't even realize these posts are here. Not like on Facebook where I get a notification if someone has posted something. I agree about the oatmeal. If you just plain don't like it, then challenge yourself to learn to like it. We can learn to like anything, it truly is a choice. I use "mindless eating". It's a theory that if we sit in front of the TV or computer, we don't actually TASTE the food. I've tried it, it's true. Your mind wanders and the bowl of chips or cookies is gone and you think hmmm didn't even taste it so you go get another bowl. So I do it backwards now. I put a bowl of oatmeal in front of me while on computer. Shockingly, I devour it and don't even know. Hope that helps.

I don't do breakfast cereals. They're one of the least nutritious foods out there. When I do eat breakfast, I prefer something like a veggie omelette or whole grain toast (gluten free for me) and peanut butter or eggs, etc.

I don't do cereals either. No gluten for me. No dairy either. I start the day with the juice of one lemon in hot water. My morning tea, so to speak. I follow that up with hard boiled eggs and fruit for breakfast. On weekends I go all out and do a huge egg-white omelet with tons of veggies.

For your convenience read this article about being gluten intolerant. I kinda summed it up w my words but there are the links for the original article and paper. Please enjoy:
Peter Gibson Australian scientist who published a paper in 2011 about how gluten can negatively affect even people who do not have celiac desise. He basically started the plague of "gluten intolerance" among healthy people...
Now he conduced a follow up study that was a lot more detailed. Monitored people, while controlling their diet, and removed all other possible factors that can cause similar symptoms as "gluten intolerance"
The result of the study was that the same amount of gastric discomfort is noticed with or without gluten in the food. "Patients" obviously did not know when they were fed gluten or not.
