I am new also. I just started this month. I am trying to walk 30 mins a day and doing strength and card workouts. It is hard to go from doing nothing to jumping into a workout.

Oh I hear that. I have been trying to do Zumba 2 nights and walking on the others. Very slow going. I love Zumba when I'm there but man getting there is hard.

Re-active here!
Been doing much research on Lyle McDonalds Body Recomposition pages, and have new focus. Weight went from 327 to 242 to 275.... Now at 265, so direction is good again. Found out today that the Withins scale and MND both link to Google Health, a resource I just discovered!!

Hi Rozwellite! Although the group is not real talkative, I can assure there's a whole bunch of us who are in this thing 150 %! :) I started in January with 100 pounds to lose and as of today, I am now down 65 pounds with 35 to go. It's hard but it's all math, so MND really takes the guesswork out of the whole calorie counting thing. As for being active, there is just no way around it. I had lap band surgery in 2006, lost 100 pounds, and gained them all back in less than 2 years. Even after having had weight loss surgery, I still have to eat well and move my behind...or else I gain it all back. So whatever method, pill, surgery or diet we choose, it's all about how many calories go into our bodies versus how many we burn. Simple but hard I know. I try going to the gym every day at lunch since I am not paid for that hour anyways, and it's pretty much the only time I have to myself. I used to waste my lunch hour anyways by overeating, spending too much money, smoking and, excuse my french, by bitching at my bosses. So I now take my arse to a nearby gym and I try to do at least 45 minutes of cardio a day, which is way more constructive... So if you manage to do at least 30 minutes of cardio (sweating) every day, while couting everything you eat, well you just can't fail! I know losing more than 100 pounds sounds impossible but it really is! Good luck and please let us know how you're doing :)

It is so great to hear so many of you are really pushing yourself and have lost so much already!
I am starting with renewed vigor today. Several years ago I lost over 100lbs and slowly I have gained most of it back. I know it is because I stopped exercising and ate whatever I wanted.
It is really hard for me to exercise, since I have never cared for it. I realize I need to do it since this is the only way to lose weight and be healthy.
I hope we can encourage each other.
