Hi JimboQ-
It sounds like you have hit a plateau with your weight loss.
Plateaus are normal and unfortunately a frustrating part of the weight loss journey.
You mentioned you have been "at it for awhile." I am curious how long you have been actively losing weight, using MyNetDiary and how long you have been diligently eating 1400 calories a day? Many folks find that at first they lose weight quite quickly. They give up a few high calorie foods/drinks and the scale reflects there hard work. The amount of weight you would like to lose (are we talking 30# or 100#) and the timeline make a difference?
Also, what do you do for exercise? Do you have the app set to add exercise to calorie budget? I'd suggest turning off this feature as you don't want to be eating the calories you just burned from exercise.
-Have you switched up your exercise routine lately? Our bodies become efficient and we don't burn as many calories bike riding after we have been doing it for weeks on end. Perhaps it is a change to start doing something different for exercise, although options are a bit limited with gyms being closed.
-Also, when is the last time you took a deep dive into weighing and measuring your food? Sometimes we may be eating larger portions than we realize! We think we are eating 1400 calories a day and yet we are really eating 1700 calories/day. Here is an article on measuring portions that might help.

Finally, Here are a few articles that address weight plateaus and could provide you with some new things to try.
Check them out and email us back with questions. We are always happy to help and there is no reason you have to go at this alone!

Hi, in todays blog post (6/26/2020) https://www.mynetdiary.com/are-avocados-heart-healthy.html, at the end of the article you said,

"Did you know that MyNetDiary allows you to import recipes from most recipe websites? Yes, MyNetDiary can import recipe ingredients and directions directly into your personal account! You can then make changes and save the recipe as your own for easy and accurate tracking. Check it out!"

I'm not seeing where I can import and I'm also not finding any other place on the website to find this information. Please advise.

Love the advise and LOVE avocados!!

Hello MFaber3- Thanks for reaching out! The recipe import feature is currently available on ios app.
The launch for android will be in about a month. At this time we don't have a launch date for recipe import from the web app. Happy to pass along the feedback that you'd appreciate this feature.
Enjoy those avocados~ Best, Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

I have a recipe for 30 servings and each serving is 369 calories. It doesn’t state a serving size. How do I figure that out. It’s granola.

Hi U1188283787,

Thanks for your question. Your recipe should tell you the serving size in household measures or grams. If it is in grams, you can use a gram scale to estimate the single serving in household measure. You can get a fairly inexpensive and reliable kitchen gram scale for home use. If your recipe does not give you the amount per serving size, without knowing your specific recipe, a basic granola is about 300 calories per 1/2 cup. I am estimating that the serving size is about 1/2 cup.

A cool feature with MyNetDiary is the recipe entry feature. You can enter the recipe into the MyNetDiary tracker and it will then give you the total volume in grams for the recipe. You can select that it makes 30 servings. It will then automatically estimate the nutrition breakdown for each serving. Here is more info on MyNetDiary recipe entry if you are interested. We also just launched the recipe import feature where you can import recipes from other websites and apps! Check out the second link below.

Hope this helps! Let us know if you need more help. Enjoy your granola and way to go to portion it out! Brenda (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

how can i get my daily intake of fibre and protein without going over my calories or my carbs over?

been trying to get all my daily intake of vitamins especially iron as i have a deficancy so for that i need to take a supplement that helps get my daily in, but fibre is so hard when watching calories and making sure my carbs are 30% or less of my calorie intake plus to add even more differeculity im 4yrs post op on a gastric sleeve and still cant eat excessive amounts to be able to hit targets.

wanting to get my protein up as i have started working out more constintently and want to build muscle to boost my metabliosm

Hi OpasnaSplicanka89- Welcome to MyNetDiary! Glad you found us.

Eating enough protein can be a challenge after the sleeve.
Do you eat 3m/day + a snack? Strive for about 18g of protein per meal and then 6g of protein at snack. Are you very particular about the foods you eat? Making sure to always eat nutrient-dense foods and stay away from things like chips, crackers?
Here's some more info on foods that are rich in protein:
https://www.mynetdiary.com/the-benefits-of-eating-protein

I'd suggest eating some dietary fiber at each meal. However, if you eat too much fiber, it might cause you to feel full too fast and then you run out of space for your protein.
Track how you feel after eating different fiber-rich foods in the app- so as to know how much fiber your body can handle at each meal. Here is some info on fiber in foods: https://www.mynetdiary.com/great-food-sources-of-fiber.html

You mentioned an iron deficiency. Make sure to take your prescribed post-operative supplements and get your labs checked at least once a year. Here is some more info on iron https://www.mynetdiary.com/increase-your-iron-intake-naturally.html

Finally, if you are finding you are having a hard time eating a balanced diet, getting to your goal weight, and feeling energetic, you may want to consider meeting 1:1 with a Registered Dietitian who has experience with bariatric patients. https://www.eatright.org/find-an-expert
Does this help address your concerns? Best, Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

Is there any way to add the Food Group Pyramid to the Dashboard so you can see throughout the day that you are eating the required food groups as you go?

Hi Mermaid1961- Thanks for sharing this feedback! We do not have a food pyramid option at this point in time. Though we can certainly discuss such a feature with our development team. As a work-around, you could use the custom tracker feature to track your food groups. It is available with a premium membership. Just let me know if you'd like more information!
