Hi NickJ - Iron deficiency anemia is the most nutrient nutrient deficiency in the world. Some good sources: iron-fortified breakfast cereals, clams, octopus, oysters, mussels, liver, kidneys, duck, beef, and pork are all high food sources. Iron in seafood/organ meats/meats are the most bioavailable (highest absorption from gut).

I've only just started tracking iron separately and can't believe how little I have. I only just got daily fibre and calcium worked out - tackling iron seems like a much bigger task.

Thanks for the reply. I still couldn't find it but I found out what was going on from the helpful people in support.


From their replpy: "Recently, we have implemented the new rule that "Find Contributed

foods" option disappears when user has any Diabetes Type settings

different to "Diabetes Type: NONE". Users with "Diabetes Type: NONE"

can see "Find Contributed" option."


I am not diabetic (luckily not even pre-type2 diabetic with my current weight) so I don't remember going into the diabetes tab but I did "play around" with eveything when I first started using the app.

I thought I would add this as others may find it helpful.

Having trouble finding replies to your posts? You will only see so many recent threads from your iPhone app. To see all threads and to be able to search, use the web forum.

Also, on my computer screen, I do not always see all threads in one screen view if I just click on the page # to go backwards. I have to use the little back double arrow on the bottom left hand side of the screen to see all threads. It is a little odd - I was missing threads for a while until I discovered this.

If you want to go backwards in time on one thread and see all posts, then use the double-back arrow key to the bottom righthand of the screen vs. using the page #s.

Daily Values on Food Labels: Hi NickyJ, if you want the system to include your nutrition supplement vits/mins to your food totals, then you can add it as a custom food item.

Usually, the vitamin or mineral listed has the actual amount as well as the %DV. Enter the %DV for vitamins & minerals into MyNetDiary unless the field asks for a specific unit of measure.

It can get confusing when the supplement doesn't list the %DV. In that case, it is good to know what the actual values are for the DV.

Here's the DV values listed on food labels and supplements (copied from the FDA website).

NOTE: DVs are food label tools only - they are not RDAs for intake. When you enter the DV into MyNetDiary, it is just a convenience. MyNetDiary takes the info, converts it into actual values, and then uses your specific age/sex group values for reports.

Is there a way to get a summary of nutrients consumed for a three or six month period? I want to compare carbs, sugar and fiber to some blood work I just had done that was a little disappointing after losing 55 pounds so far. Thanks-
