Anyone else doing Atkins?

I've done it before and I lost weight. And then ate carbs again and gained it all back :(. The Mediterranean diet I think is close but includes carbs. I don't know for sure. I'm eating everything this go around-- just less of it. 35 lbs since January and fluctuating between losing and maintaining. So I'm sticking with everything. No denials of any food seems to work for me.

I'm not sure I will stick with it. My blood sugar was 135 when I got up this morning and 2 hours after breakfast it was 128. This is my third week and was hoping for better blood sugar.

I did the Atkins a few years ago and lost around 70lbs. It was a great diet.

Unfortunately, I put it all back on and more shortly after I stopped the diet and that seems to be a common lamment with the low carb diets.

It seemed to build up a "carbohydrate debt" within me so that I gorged on carbs the minute I stopped dieting.

If it works for you then keep doing it but take great care to come off it gradually and see if you can keep the weight off.

I know I keep reading about people that put the weight back on. I'm still on it, I just have to give it a try. I don't like bread so I'm not having any problems with staying away from that. When it comes to fruit I stick with berries I try not to eat more than 60-90 grams of protein a day. I do eat the good fats and I don't count it. I really feel good and sleeping great since I started. I have lost 7 pounds in three weeks.

7lbs in three weeks is great. Well done.

Sounds like a good diet for you if you are not fussed about bread.

Thanks, I log my food on here so I do keep track of everything

I just started doing high protein low carb. So far I am dong okay. 5.4 lbs. down in 3 days. Logging in everything I eat. Eating 3 meals and 2 snacks. I grocery shopped and made sure I had all the right foods around me.
