Hi JacobsMummy! My name is Amy, and I'm in the same boat you are! I'm 225 and I would like to get down to 150! Currently I'm taking it one day at a time, with great results! I started a low carb diet not quite 2 weeks ago and have just added a workout plan this past weekend...I've lost 11lbs already!!! I would love to have a buddy! Message me if you get this :)

Thanks! I am still going strong :) if I can figure out how to open my profile for you to see my eating plan, you're more than welcome to look it over. I think the best eating plans are the ones that you can stick to. For instance, I can go out to a restaurant and order off of a menu and just omit a few things (carbs) which makes my diet delicious and convenient. Also adding exercise in has made it just that much better. I've consumed 1200 calories today, but since I burned off nearly 800 calories at the gym today my food plan says I can eat that much more and STILL lose weight! I'm choosing not to eat them back, as I'm full from what I've eaten today. Also, I reached a point where something just snapped and I'm fully determined to lose this weight I've been carrying around since having my daughter nearly 5 years ago lol. I just can't live in someone else's body anymore. It's not me. I hope you can find the motivation, because when you do you'll be unstoppable! I want to add that the initial large weight loss from the low carb diet really kept me motivated. Losing 7-8lbs in one week really gave me the results I needed to keep pushing through. Good luck, you can do it!

The same thing happened to me. I lost 4lbs the first week and then put 2-3 back on and they're sticking around. I think once my body really adjusts to the new lifestyle the weight will come off a lot more consistantly. Just remember we're in it for the long haul. If you stick with it, you will lose weight. It's only a matter of time. :)

Honestly my meals have been kind of like a broken record lol. Lots of eggs, mushrooms, spinach, chicken, sausages, cheese. At the store tonight I found some carb free calorie free shiritaki (sp??) noodles called "Miracle Noodles" and to be honest, they were wonderful!!!! Look them up if you get the chance. There are some negative reviews but I really enjoyed them. I had pesto pasta with chicken and veggies for like 350 calories nd I'm stuffed! So good and I didn't have to skimp on the pesto. It was miraculous!!

In 2010 I topped out at 225 lbs. currently down to 162 and working to get down to a healthy weight. Do not loose hope, you can do it!
I got into running and that has realty been an important factor for me. Currently training for a 10k, something i would have never imagined doing 2 years ago. Find an exercise that you enjoy and challenge yourself in each workout.
My second mission has been cooking. I am currently cooking 1 new healthy recipe every week to make my own personal cookbook. For me this has made it more fun to eat healthy. I recommend the whole foods store app. I have found tons of awesome recipes there.

Thanks for the encouragement Mhawk!! So far I've lost 23lbs!! I'm down to 214 from my highest weight of 237 at the beginning of January. I'm still eating low carb and feel pretty darn satisfied :) Congrats on your huge success!! You've lost major weight!! I love going to the gym and now that it's warming up and thawing here, l plan on resuming one of my absolute favorite activities: hiking!
