can’t lose weight Topic

My weight stayed the same for a while but I wear a belt with my work clothes and I noticed I was needing to use new holes in my belt. Eventually a list 2 belt holes and after that I started seeing weight loss. Also, I only weigh myself once a day and that’s 10 mins after I wake up. I hate running but found I like walking on my treadmill 3.7~4.2 mph for 60 mins or 4miles, which ever happened second. Also when I feel lazy or unmotivated I reach down and grab my sides lol puts me back in the weight loss frame of mind haha. Also I keep telling myself I’d really like to see my abs again. I say it in my head several times a day. And everyone around me knows I’m really trying hard to lose weight and they go out of their way to keep me going. I know I will reach my goal as long as I don’t give up and I know in my heart that you will too as long as you don’t give up. I will send you happy thoughts :)

Thank you BareToesRoo for sharing! It sounds like your persistence and positive self talk are really paying off! Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing your success. Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

Hi all,
Currently started my weight loss journey again on feb 1st. One month I’ve lost 2.6 kilos giving up chocolate and biscuits chips and trying not to eat more than 1000 calories a day.
I have rheumatoid arthritis since a child at the moment I can’t use treadmill my hips are in a bad way.
Does sleep have a big bearing on weight loss? I only average around 4 hours a day. Thanks

Hello U4984372- Welcome to MyNetDiary! Glad you found us.

Yes, lack of sleep can impact weight and the pace at which you lose weight. Here's an awesome post our in-house Dietitian Sue wrote on the link between weight loss and sleep. https://www.mynetdiary.com/sleep-and-weight.html

Hi I have been utterly dedicated to my weight loss now for 3 weeks. I have a lot to lose 7stone (100lbs) so have set my goals as I feel realistic given past history although I am 52 now. I’m only 5’4 and start weight was 7st5lbs. I am now at 16 st.9lbs but that has not moved since the end of the second week! I’m 2 days off 3rd week. I am happy to share my diary. As I say I am utterly devoted (slightly obsessed). I weigh everything, log everything and eat healthily. I have my carbs, protein, fat roughly evenly balanced and exercise when I can (due to work and chronic back pain). I am eating between 800 and 1100 calories a day and burning way over twice that so I in deficit by 1000 calories a day minimum! Sooooo.....why has my weight plateaued already! I won’t give up but I am disheartened. I thought it might be water but I am drinking 2 litres+ water a day (I do forget to log my water) and yesterday was peeing all flippin day long!! Help friends xxxxx

It sounds like you are not eating enough calories. I eat abt 1500 calories a day and lose roughly 1/2 pound a week. U can also try a little weight lifting to boost your metabolism. All the best to you!

Thank you. I have always been told I don’t eat enough, but I physically struggle to eat a lot of food. I know no-one believes me but there is no point in lying as I would only be lying to myself. I’ve talked to doctors who tell me to do exactly what I am doing but nothing! I’m at a loss but I do not want to give in! I march out at 3.5km an hour over fields/rough ground for an hour with a steep incline at the end before I complete the circuit. I suffer with a bad back so worry about weights.
