Changing Calorie Goal Topic

It would be nice if when you change your calorie goal that the system didn't change it for the entire history of your tracking. I think that makes the weekly reports a bit inaccurate. For example, lets say I was eating maintenance which is about 1,600 calories per day and I started gaining so now I need to lose weight so I drop my calories down to 1,200. Now all those days where I ate at or around 1,600 up until the day where I changed my intake are going to state that I'm over when clearly I wasn't.

I think that when you change the goal it should change it from that day forward until it changes again, then it changes from THAT point forward etc. etc. I think this would give better accuracy in the weekly numbers.

I doubt this will be implemented since I don't think anyone in "support" actually reads the forums. I just figured I'd throw it out there on the off chance someone is actually paying attention.

Stumbled on this as I was about to post exactly the same thing. Changes in calories, macros, or any other target should NOT be retroactive.

Asked to support. Got negative response about the possibility to implement the goal as day attribute, at least for the near future.
The things go worse if you have Autopilot on, on daily bases your history changes from green to red and vice-versa.

How do i change daily target calories permanently. Every time I change them they revert back to the mynetdairy recommendations.

Is this app obsolete? Can't find anything current! I think I want a refund, I've Bern a paid member for less than a day and this is so very disappointing. Any thoughts? Is there anyone out there?

Has ANYONE helped you at all on this app?

Dear U3312821,

I came across your question when I was checking forum for my area and will make sure support gets it. He may need more information from you to better address your question. I am sorry you are having this issue. Sounds frustrating and let's try to get it fixed!

Best, Brenda (Dietitian)

Hi U3312821,
Daily target calories change automatically with every new weight entry if AutoPilot feature turned on. As I can see under your account now, this feature is disabled for your account now. Please e-mail to support mynetdiary com if the issue persists.

Thank you for your patience.

Hi Carole27,

AutoPilot is enabled for your account; thus, the issue with calorie budget change. You can disable it under the Plan tab online.

AutoPilot option tells MyNetDiary to adjust your Planned daily calories, Fats, Carbs, and Proteins depending on your Current weight, Target weight and Target date entered at Plan tab, your body Height, Date of birth, Gender, Activity level entered at Account tab and Exercise plan entered at Plan tab. The existing exercise plan is recalculated based on your body weight changes. Selecting AutoPilot option has the same effect as clicking "Reset calories", except "Reset calories" command changes your plan once, while AutoPilot keeps adjusting your food and exercise plan whenever you enter new body weight or change any data mentioned at Plan page.

Notice: While relying on AutoPilot, please, make sure Target date is far enough. AutoPilot cannot guarantee to achieve target weight timely when the target date is too close or desired weight loss is too great for the period till target date. Under those extreme conditions, AutoPilot switches to a safe 1 lbs/week strategy.

Hope that helps.

Agreed. Your history should NOT be modified by any change to the present. I've been using MND over MFP for nearly a month now. Many things I like about MND, but this is sufficiently annoying, that I've started my search for another app.
