CONFUSED! Nutrition Plan Cals LESS than BMR - Safe? Topic


Hey guys - new to the forum. I've been using this app i've lost over 10 lbs already.

That said my target of 2 lbs of weight loss per week hit a bit of a snafu.

32 Male, 162 lbs, target 156 lbs (<15% body fat)

1) Can I eat less than BMR =(1705)
2) CURRENT Weight Maintenance Cals = (2447)
3) Loss of 1000 Calories a day = 1447 calories in take (eating and exercising) - that's less than what i read is recommended (1500)

can i continue lowering my target calories as i lower my weight? The app is suggesting i lower my Nutrient Plan to 1347. ??

I wouldn't. You get to a point where you need to lose less in a week. If you start going lower in calories then you body will start to lose muscle mass and thats not something you want to do.
