Good Afternoon! I'm new to the team but not MyNetDiary. I seem to struggle with what to eat - get a set pattern, have some success, but then loathe the food after about a week. I could use some variety and motivation - I would love to lose 28 lbs.

What types of food do you like to eat...and what types help you lose weight more. For example, I love love love carbs...but they hate me...but too low a carb diet disagrees with me...so I have to focus on the correct balance (correct for me)... what do you like and perhaps we can swap some suggestions.

I am also a Carb lover - to the point it is dangerous to have white bread and sugary sweets (cookies) in the house! Too low card and I can't concentrate. Here are some examples of my "standards". Breakfast is almost always a protein shake and toast. A snack of string cheese and V8. A subway sandwich for lunch - alternate between turkey and tuna. A lot of protein shakes - mostly after a workout but sometimes afternoon snack. Dinner at home works pretty well - usually chicken and a vegetable (and in the afternoon/ evening if I dare to have any carbs its pretty much all over...I'll eat everything in sight!) Sometimes I'll eat tuna from a packet.

Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

I try to mix up my morning and afternoon snacks to stop things getting repetitive. Try boiling up some eggs on a Sunday night and having a boiled egg 2 or 3 times a week as snack either mid morning or afternoon. I also like low fat yoghurt as a snack or fruit.

I try and mix up breakfast as well. If I eat a decent breakfast either scrambled eggs and 1 piece of wholemeal bread (made with water and in the microwave - it takes less that 2 minutes) or a low fat cereal and yogurt or milk it keeps me going longer. You need foods that will keep you going for a few hours - not spike your hunger in an hour or so. I also find juices have quite a lot of sugar etc and make me more hungry.

Not sure if you have a family or not but I live by myself - so I just don't buy bad food that I know I may be tempted to eat - it cuts down the urge to binge if the option isn't readily available \:-)

I have decided to focus on losing weight again. I was at 251 about two yeaars ago and finally settled at 225 this morning. I want to concentrate and make an effort to lose these last 25 pounds so here goes. I follow the paleo/low carb plan if anyone is interested.
