I also think non-food rewards are better, since food is what got us in this mess to begin with.
I haven't really rewarded myself yet, because for now, the actual fact of just having lost a bunch of weight and feeling so much better physically is reward enough in itself.
I have decided that I will buy myself a nice suit and a Fedora hat once I hit my target weight ;)

Made it through the work Christmas weekend and have hit a new low weight!!
Had a few glasses of wine and some lovely cheeses, we were in the Hunter Valkey after all. Best wines in the world!! Didn't go nuts but just enjoyed my weekend. No point being a miser all the time!!
80.4 and loving it!! Just 5 more to go and I've lost 25% of me!

That is just wonderful. You should be easy to buy for this Christmas as you will be so much smaller and will need new clothes. It is quite an accomplishment. Well done-Fran

I am new to MND even though I found it last July. I have been making healthy lifestyle changes for about two years and during that time I lost 80 pounds. I got married last December and gained 15 pounds back. I am now refocusing on the importance of making good choices even though I have a hard time seeing myself as a thin person. I still feel 250. I frustrate myself.

I think the hardest thing is to see yourself as differnt after weight loss. I tease my co workers that deal with behavioral health issues. That obesity and weight loss=dysmorphic disorder. Which is we seldom see ourselves as how big we truly are and when we loss it we don't see ourselves any different. I am just starting to see it so it must be temporary. I have lost over 140 pounds so it is about time! The weight gain after marriage I think is normal. Be glad it was just 15 pounds. Congrad to you. Wish I were you height. Fran

You are a inspiration! Enjoy your new self,it is time you see yourself differently.
Have you gotten rid of all your old cloths?I read somewhere that if we hold on to them we are subconsciously thinking we might gain the weight back, and keep them just in case we need them. makes sense.

OMG I have started boxing up things to give away. You know what I see now ? Those cloth are SOOOOO much bigger than when I wore them-LOL I think not, but they are huge. Wonder why they didn't look that huge before. Maybe I was delusional lol. So weird though.

I am on my third set of clothes. As I have lost the weight I got rid of the old clothes. (what is funny is I did the same thing as I got bigger) I have only kept one set (shorts and shirt) from the big days. Every once in a while, when I really think I don't look any different than I did before, I take the outfit out and put it on. Sometimes it helps me see who I am today. Other times I put it away quickly before anyone else sees. It is truly a strange experience.

I kept a lot of my cloths as I gained weight hoping some day I could wear them again.Well now I can! Thank-goodness they are still in style! I am definelty tossing the big ones but I like Your idea Maptab about keeping one outfit and trying it on every once in awhile to see how far I have come.
