Good for you! New Orleans might be my all-time most difficult city to visit and still meet calories intake goals. I have family there and all of us like to eat.
Taking advantage of all the fresh seafood is definitely the way to go.

Fran, what is it like so far to wear the weight vest? Do you have to be more careful when you walk to avoid joint pain? Does your back ache a little with the extra weight? I am so curious!

Well this weight vest is amazing. I am wearing the 10 pounds. Which my son have to wegh because he insisted it was heavier, which it was not. Odd how when we loss 10 pounds and we have so much to got we say "only 10 lb" let me tell you it is significant. I hope to purchase the additioanl 10 lb eventually to have the full 20 but don't need them yet. I is very comfortable. close to my body, and zippers in the front. I am very leery og the ones that go over your head as I would think you could really hurt yourself lifting that weight. Did not want shoulder problem. I worn it to work all week. It is thin enough to be covered under my regualr size sweaters/blazers so unless I say something noone is aware. It is like being on a planet with a slightly stronger gravitity. I really like it on the stairs as they were getting too easy. As far as muscles hurting nothing more than when you change up ad start a new program. I did muddy the waters a little by changing the way I do stairs now . Started this week too. I now do 2 stairs at a time as that is a better weight exercise because you are lifting your body weight (and the 10 pound vest) up 2 stairs.Suppose to increase muscle and burn more calories. It was worth all the reseach and expense for the vest( I did find a good price but still not the cheapest one out there for the amt of weight included)I did to decide on this one. I also should say it is the easiest 10 lb I have ever taken off-lol. I am also pleased with the reseach on bone density improvement. I am glad to answer an questions if I can- Hope all is well with everyone-Fran

Crazy.
Do they have a 120 lbs vest? ;) That's how much I lost so far. Honestly I can't even understand it myself.

I could not find the 140 lp one I would have needed to replace what I carried (more if you go to my all out high. I learned the hard way you cannot pick it up that easy. I had told my husband I could move 80 pound paver stones because at that point I had lost over 100 pounds. Well I was wrong. God only knows how I got around-lol With a bad heart also. That was a truly potenial train wreck

I was carrying a 30 lb bag of dog food up the stairs the other day and I suddenly realized--"no wonder my knees were hurting before I lost the weight!"

Fran, which brand of weight vest did you buy? Sorry, I think you might have sent a link to it before but it is buried now.

Thanks, Fran! I'm going to consider getting it. It's worth the price if it is well-balanced. Walking with a backpack on a regular basis is NOT an option for me since my neck gets so stiff.

I have worn it daily for 12 days with no problem. I plan to by the additional 10 pounds to bring it to 20 pounds gradually. I am also doing the stairs 2 at a time as a weight bearing excerice as I wanted to increase the difficulty. Lifting your weight up 2 stairs for the 20 plus flights daily has been different and with the weight vest. Hope it is worth it. Have a great day-Fran
