Okay, we have 1 more month of this year. Let's finish it with a mindful approach to eating and activity. Using eating and activity as a way to nourish and support ourselves. Just thoughts for December as we head into the holiday gauntlet!

Kathy -- doing well! So far this year I've lost over 70-lb, but I have more to go to meet my personal goal. I'm trying to be mindful of my activities relating to this goal over the holiday and finish the year out strong!
Over the last few months, I've increased my activity level somewhat significantly doing a combination of aerobic exercise and resistance training with the goal to increase my lean muscle mass to burn more energy.
My problem is that the more I exercise -- the more hungry I seem get and the more I eat! I've tried to mitigate against this by drinking more water when I exercise and about an hour before I eat to help me to feel full faster.
I've tried to stop focusing on my weight as the main metric and focus on my general health (and I DO feel better!). That said, I would be lying to say that it has not been frustrating to apparently plateau and watch my weight stall in comparison to my previous successes!

Hang in there, Rock-It-Scientist! What about going up in non-starchy veggies when appetite is high? That might help. Looks like your protein intake is already high otherwise I would recommend that.
And then there is winter - I tend to feel more hungry during cold weather and I battle that with the holiday treats.

Going good! Been 100 percent clean eating for 3 weeks now! Keeping it up!

I like that clean eating emphasizes unprocessed, home cooked, whole foods - a nice depature from our highly processed, fast food, convenience food world that we usually are surrounded with (in the U.S. at least). Also a nice way to learn how to cook and appreciate subtle flavors from real foods (vs. flavor chemicals added to processed foods).

Kathy
