On a role today as it is snowing and I am writing to decide f I am going out in it. but had a question for the team. Do any of you have pets and are they within a normal weight? Not sure what it could mean but just curious. I have two cats a himalayan and a chinchila persian both in a normal weight range. They are little ones both at or below 10 pounds. Havea good day-Fran

I have a cat and it's perfectly normal. :)
So are both my kids, which I am really happy about :)

I believe there is research that shows that if owners are overweight and don't exercise, their pets are too! Also, I have seen research that shows dog owners tend to weigh less and get more exercise than those who do not have dogs (because of the walking).
I only have a Ciclid as a pet.

I am see if that holds true as it never did for me-my animals were always normal weight. I also think I am not unique in that. Also think there are other things it can show about how we relate to food.

I have two dogs, a miniature Dachshund and a rescue that we think is a Dachshund and Pomeranian mix. Both are normal weight always, because with Dachshunds its really important not to let them get overweight or they can get very bad back problems due to being so elongated.
Before I started losing weight, I used to ask my dogs if they would please mete out my food as carefully as I did theirs, since I couldn't seem to! LOL.

My 'wrong' relationship is definitely personal. Both my children are normal weight too.
But I do think some people transfer their problem on to others though.

We have a lab who is older and a bit overweight according to our vet but he has weighed almost exactly the same for many years in spite of efforts to have him lose 5 lbs. Even as he is slowing down and getting less exercise, he stays the same weight. He has the typical "English Lab" body type which is thick bodied. We just got another dog who eats like crazy and is food-obsessed but remains skinny, long and lean. Guess it's the same with people-- we are stuck with our genetics but there are things that we can do to stay the healthiest weight possible for our individual body type.
