Hey Everyone,
I think staying motivated is one of the toughest aspects of weight loss. It involves constantly staying focused, avoiding temptation and at times, giving up a lot to get what you want. Here is an article I wrote on staying motivated a while back. Joanna (Dietician)

Oh man, Beer, flat out. So many social activities involve a drink, and the stuff literally chemically suppresses impulse control, so that slope is slip-er-y! If you don't want to go full on recovering alcoholic lifestyle, you're on the top of that slope every time you go out, and being in a deficit craving calories anyway makes you are so primed to take that slide like a water park.

New strategy I'm trying is a 2 water per non-water rule. Every drink, got to follow it with 2 waters/alt bev before I can have another. That way a six drink night stays a six drink night but for the cost of only two, you don't have to make a point to everyone of abstaining, can enjoy the indulgence, but still stay hydrated, sober, and have something to sip on throughout the night so don't feel as tempted to go overboard.

I think that is a good strategy to lower your alcoholic intake. And besides, it will help you stay properly hydrated while drinking.

I stick to light beer. A 16oz can of miller lite is only 4 carbs.

Light beer is a good idea if you are looking for a lower calorie alcoholic beverage. Great idea Asphesteros about water in- between alcoholic drinks. I wish more people would do this! Have a fun weekend and if/when you do drink, make sure to do so responsibly! Joanna (Dietician)

Such great advice on the two water in between rule! Slows it down and reduces the overall alcohol intake for the night! And is Miller lite really only 4 carbs?? ??

Keto

Before starting MND I craved fatty, salty foods during my PMS time. Now that is cut out , around that same time I crave carbs like crazy. I’ve never been a carb craver. It’s a torturous battle between my brain and stomach. I tell myself to give in then I say no I’ve come too far. This goes on for hours at a time. I’ve been strong so far but I’m worried I may give in. I feel I’m constantly thinking and planning food as well. I’m worried it’s becoming and obsession with food.
