Iโve had so many eating disorders in the past so i over indulge in my food choices during the day. I was always scared to track to trigger my bulimia. Iโm facing my fear and starting a change because even without the app I started relapsing ! Wish me luck :)

Hi U1189392811- Struggling with binge eating can be very tough. You are not alone in this!
Here are at MyNetDiary we take disordered eating very seriously. The research suggests that tracking calories (for example with an app like MyNetDiary) can actually make disordered eating, such as binge eating, worse.
For this reason we encourage you to STOP tracking and get professional help.
I realize this may sound harsh and not the answer you were hoping to hear.
I am suggesting this out of concern for your health and well-being.
In fact we have written this same advice into our disordered eating policy: https://www.mynetdiary.com/do-no-harm-mynetdiary-supports-healthful-eating.html
I am sure you are fearful- and not wanting things to get worse.
Please talk with your doctor about finding a therapist who specializes in disordered eating and a dietitian who can help you build a healthy/balanced meal plan to fuel your body in a healthy way.
Please let me know you received this message and most of all- be kind to yourself!
Wishing you the best in your recovery. Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

Hello U1189310738- Welcome to MyNetDiary!
Everyone's energy demands are different. Because we can't see your profile, health statistics, health goals, etc. I am not sure if 1200 calories is enough energy for you each day.
The good news is that MyNetDiary makes it easy to figure out how much energy your body needs by giving you a calorie budget (based on your current ht/wt), age, gender and health goals. The app does the work for you, so you don't have to do any guess work:)
In general, we Dietitians at MyNetDiary encourage people not to go below 1,200 calories a day because in doing so it is very challenging to meet macro and micronutrient needs.
Please let us know if you have additional nutrition or weight loss questions. We are happy to help. All the best, Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

Hello. Iโm a male (rare, I know) currently dealing with a sudden relapse of anorexia. I only eat about 400 cals normally because my stomach kills me if I eat anymore. However I managed to get 1200 cals in today with a good hard workout. You can get through any ED, if you put your mind to it. ๐๐ป

Hi U1190453028- It sounds like you are working hard to recover from your disordered eating. Strong work on making it a priority to eat regularly throughout the day! Restricting can create a lot of stomach upset and discomfort which can make eating harder.
While using a tracker to log intake can be helpful for some individuals, for others it can be very triggering. We do not advocate tracking if you have an eating disorder or if you are struggling with a relapse. Instead, we suggest working with a counselor and dietitian who specialize in eating disorders. Here is some additional information that can help you further your recovery:
