Let's post on this thread now for February! How is the cold weather treating everyone, or is anyone from a warmer climate? I am planning to stairclimb in my own home (again) to avoid going outside in the frigid temperature (it was -13F last night). How is everyone doing with their exercise?

Hi,
I am doing great, training and feeling how my body changes due to that. The downside of it is that I am craving for food and feeling generally hungrier. I hope I will get used to the exercise and get my cravings under control!
I have never been fit in my whole life, so despite of the secondary effects I am enjoying the experience.
I am going out for dinner tonight but I will have a spinning class first and a very light lunch, so that I can accommodate the extra calories.
How is everyone else doing!?

I'm doing good with my exercising. At least three times a week on the elliptical at my work and one yoga class a week. It is also cold where I am so I'm hoping once the weather breaks I will be able to get out more.

Good for you Talliann! The exercise is so important.
Hunger - think about adding more nutrient-dense but low caloric foods to help in this regard. Of course veggies fit this bill, but I find an extra source of lean protein, especially with my after-dinner snacks REALLY helps reduce the hunger, especially before bedtime. My old standby is about 1/3 cup low fat cottage cheese.

Great-that is 4 days per week! Yes, I know what you mean about the weather. I stair-climbed for 2 days this week because of the below zero weather. Then my knees were slightly achy. Better now, and finally got a nice 45 min walk out in the fresh, 40F, air!

It's been a crazy week for me and I've been completely unable to go to the gym. I've eaten nicely all week though, so it's not all bad.
I'll be going to the gym in a few minutes so I can get up to speed. Looking forward to try out my new heart rate monitor that stores a graph of my heart rate during my entire exercise ;) Yeah yeah, I know. I am a geek ;)
It's cold here, but not horribly so. We could use some early spring now, but I guess it's pushing it a bit to ask for that. Usually our spring doesn't come until March :D

Well, I've gotten back in the fitness room and loving it. Sometimes I just can't wait until I can go back ;)

Great to hear that, Sune! It does feel good. I crave exercise, even when I am tired. And it is fantastic for arthritis!

I am actually from Canada, the frigid north, but I moved to Texas a few years ago. Though it is cold here now, it's nothing compared to there.
My birthday this year, which happens to fall on January 1st, combined with my New Years Resolution was an XBox Kinect and the workout programs with it. January 2nd I started seriously kicking my butt into gear. I started at 262 and I am today at 250.
I am finding Net Diary incredibly helpful and I am greatful for all the information I am able to find on here.
My husband started the diet with me, but he seems to have given up and now has hamburgers and chocolate bars, and all the things I can't, and at this point don't want to eat. I have no cravings for these items when I am not around him. But when he sits there eating them beside me, man my willpower teeters. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can urge him to lose the weight too. I want him to want it. But I don't want to nag him either.
