Finding it extremely difficult to maintain my weight Topic

I just gained 3 pounds from a single meal. I'm finding it really hard to lose back the weight that I put on after eating. I don't know if eating a certain amount of calories is helping though. Help, motivation, advice, etc.?

HI Ajjacobs220- Welcome to MyNetDiary! It sounds like you are looking for some support around getting back on track. During the holidays it can be far too easy to over eat and under-exercise. You are not alone!
Any small steps you can take to start moving in a more healthful direction such as:
1. Committing to eating 3m/day
2. Doing some type of daily planned activity (as your body and schedule will allow)
3. Returning to tracking food and drink intake
Here's an article from our active blog that may help. Hang in there! Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

Don’t worry you didn’t gain 3 pounds from one meal. Do low calorie for a few days it will come right back off. I do this every week. I eat bad on Friday and Saturday then do 1200-1400 Sunday to Thursday. I will weigh more at the beginning of the week but by Thursday or Friday I’m back to what I was. I keep a weight journal so I can see the effects of eating bad and how my weight does on my monthly visitor. It is very stressful maintaining but so far I’ve done it and even lost without meaning to.

Oh I need to add I do 25,000 to 30000 steps everyday. Of course if I got out of town I don’t but that’s not every weekend

Hello Cnd13, It sounds like you have a nice personalized plan that works for you for weight maintenance! Way to go for using the app to set different calorie goals throughout the week versus over the weekend! Very smart. Sounds like you are being successful which hopefully makes it less stressful. Are you interested in sharing your story more broadly to inspire others! If so, please send us a message and we can get a conversation flowing on how to get you featured on MyNetDiary. Please send it to Jenni at jbourque@mynetdiary.com Thanks! Brenda (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

Hi, struggling with last half a stone to lose. Have been tracking all I’ve eaten and exercise regularly but don’t count that to have added calories. I was over buy 1000 calories over the week but excercise alone in my reckoning should of cancelled it out, however but pound on this week. Really struggling with constipation despite having lots of fruit veg and enough fluid? Automatic calories however dropped to 998 wouldn’t of thought that healthy? Please advice. Many thanks. Brigid.

Hi there Bridge63- I am not sure you saw my other response, so here it is.

Sorry to hear the scale is not reflecting your hard work! I realize this can be frustrating and cause doubt. It sounds like you have found success with weight loss though are not quite at goal and are able to engage in regular activity. Strong work!

I am wondering if the constipation you are experiencing is making it harder to get an accurate body weight. Meaning you may have lost more weight than you realize though that extra bowel is heavy and reflected on the scale.
You are doing the right things by drinking lots of water, eating your veggies and fruit (for the fiber) and staying active. If your constipation doesn't clear up with these natural approaches, I'd suggest seeing your doctor. They will be able to suggest medication if needed.

I don't have access to your profile so I am unsure about what you are eating or your weight loss timeline. Sometimes the app will suggest a low-calorie goal in hopes of helping you reach your weight loss goal on time (given your timeline).
Generally, it is healthiest (again, I don't know your height/weight) to eat no less than 1,200 calories/day and 60g of protein. If you feel something is off with your settings please reach out to our support team. They can pull up your account and explain things further and help you to make adjustments. Simply email: support@mynetdiary.com
Hang in there~ Your weight loss will happen. It just may take a bit longer than you'd hoped. Best, Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)
